Often have users to use our wireless router or wireless network card, XP system wireless signal is very good, but the wireless connection is not, prompted as follows:
There are generally two situations that can lead to this phenomenon:
1. The wireless router sets WEP encryption, and the security option selects "Shared secret Key", as shown in the following figure:
At this point if the wireless client connection to the wireless signal, this phenomenon will occur, the solution:
(1) Modify the security options to open system or automatic to connect normally.
(2) wireless network Configuration interface to add a profile, the association tab, "Network Authentication" select "Shared" to resolve, as shown in the following figure:
2. Wireless router settings Wpa-psk or WPA2/PSK encryption, but the customer's operating system is not fully installed due to Windows Sp2,windows patches, May cause the user's operating system to not support WPA encryption (you can view the encryption method supported by the user's system by adding a wireless profile on the user's computer, as shown in the figure above), and the wireless connection is not successful and this interface will also pop up. Workaround:
(1) Change the network encryption mode in the router to "WEP", the security option is set to open system or automatic, and the connection is normal.
(2) to the Microsoft Official website to download and install Windows XP Patch (KB893357), the system will be able to support WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK, when the wireless can connect successfully.
To sum up, the reason for this problem is that wireless network card and wireless router between the wireless security option negotiation is not work.
