For the network administrator. The biggest headache is using Ghost to change the IP address after the disk is copied. However, in Windows 98, after you change the TCP/IP, DNS, and gateway parameters, the system will require you to restart to make the new settings take effect. However, sometimes the settings are forgotten or the IP address is changed! Depressed! Changing and restarting not only delay time but also cause headaches. Besides, there are more than 300 computers waiting for me to set up! What should we do? Can the change take effect without restarting?
After a reminder from a colleague, he said, "set it to disabled before resuming use, so that your settings will take effect ."
So I tried and tried again and again, which greatly improved my work efficiency.
The following describes the process:
First, change the IP address, DNS, gateway, and other settings as required. Then, click "OK". When you click "OK", a dialog box will pop up asking if you want to restart the computer. Then, click "no ", choose not to restart. Then, right-click the mouse button on "My Computer" and click "properties" to open the "System Properties" window. In "Device Manager", find "network adapter", which is the network adapter, right-click its "properties" and select it from the "Disable (D) In this hardware configuration file" check box under the Properties window. Finally, click "OK". After a few seconds, the system will disable the NIC function. After the feature is disabled, the Properties window will be closed. Then, enable the NIC device according to the above steps. In this way, the IP address of the NIC is refreshed to the latest IP address, and you do not need to restart.
Later I thought about it. After the IP address is reset, the system saves the latest configuration, but it does not take effect currently, in Windows, after the device is enabled, the current storage record is loaded, so as to change the IP address and not restart.
