Attackers use this vulnerability to remotely control the vehicle. Tesla said it will investigate any legal loopholes in the report and take action to respond and repair it.
360 said its team of professionals studied Tesla Model Ss and found design flaws in Tesla's automotive application process. Using this loophole, attackers can remotely control the vehicle to unlock, whistle, flash, turn on the sunroof and the like, and to turn on the skylight while the vehicle is running. 360 formally submitted Tesla's related vulnerability details and solution suggestions.
However, 360 chief scientist and 360 Mobile Security Research Institute head Jiang Xuxian said the probability of successful exploitation of such vulnerabilities is very low. Owners in the Tesla settings to turn off the remote access switch can be effectively avoided the potential harm.
