Abiquo launches open source cloud computing platform Abicloud

Abiquo recently announced the launch of its open source cloud computing platform-"Abicloud", which enables the creation and management of large, complex IT infrastructures (including virtual servers, networks, applications, storage devices, etc.) in a fast, simple, and scalable manner.

One of the main differences between Abicloud and other products is its powerful web interface management, where you can deploy a new service by dragging and dropping a virtual machine. This release allows you to deploy instances through VirtualBox, and it also supports VMWARE,KVM and Xen.

The initial test consisted of running VirtualBox on its infrastructure because it was very simple to run and could run it on a different architecture, which was his first key distinction.

Today, he supports Xen and KVM via Libvirt and will provide connectors for these virtual devices in the second quarter. Supported VMware, is provided to the managed service provider enclosure.

Basically, abiquo allows companies to convert their infrastructure to services. Other competitors in the field include the recently established eucalyptus, Enomaly and Sun Corporation Q-layer, a cloud company.

Abiquo says different products have different priorities and methods, and the company's products can create private cloud computing for more complex infrastructure. The company's own open API will be released in the third quarter of this year, but there is no plan to support the Amazon API.
