The survey shows that as of July 2011, a considerable number of companies are still conservative in cloud computing and are not in a hurry to migrate IT systems.

According to the data, nearly half (48%) of the more than 1000 small and medium-sized Enterprises surveyed will be sceptical about cloud computing's cost savings. In addition, of the more than 360 business and technology decision-makers surveyed, 37% have not yet used the public cloud service program. Another 38% policymakers are still in the process of assessing cloud computing.

Such surveys are not good news for companies with high hopes for cloud computing, such as Microsoft, IBM, Apple, Dell and HP. The company has unveiled a cloud computing strategy that says cloud computing is a High-tech, low-cost data storage and management solution.

This week's survey also draws two more noteworthy conclusions: one is that major cloud computing firms are slowing the pace of market education for potential users; the second is that cloud computing security-related issues have not been adequately addressed.

InformationWeek chief analyst lorna田 Garey says the security issue is a huge hurdle for current cloud storage vendors, who cannot deliver all their trust to cloud computing providers. Especially when important data are involved in key business and customer information, the enterprise will not be fully convinced that the supplier can provide 100% security access.

1, only 15% of respondents said they are using cloud computing services, while those who plan to use cloud computing services in a year or two are only 10%.

2, security, privacy protection, policies and regulations are the user's most worried about three factors, of which 73% of respondents worry about cloud computing insecurity, 54% respondents to the privacy protection first, 36% users are focused on cloud computing related policies and legal protection mechanism.

3.69% per cent of respondents considered mail a major contributor to growth in data storage. 53% of respondents pointed out that mail is one of the main functions of cloud services.

4, in the public cloud storage services, the proportion of services needs are: Backup 76%, disaster recovery/business Continuity Protection 70%, e-mail archiving 65%, primary data storage 34%.

5, 76% of respondents said they cared about storage costs, but nearly half of them did not know the cost of cloud storage, and 8% per cent did not manage their storage resources.

6, HP, EMC, Amazon, IBM are the main cloud storage providers, the market share is: HP 30%, emc26%, Amazon 25% and IBM are 21%.
