Hewlett-Packard, Dell and IBM have all entered the public cloud based on OpenStack, making full use of the enterprise mix strategy to maintain their competitiveness. Competition with AWS

AWS has a good start on cloud computing and is actively seeking business cooperation. AWS continues to add features that are good for the enterprise, such as availability zones and Autoscale Groups, a very real threat to these OEM vendors. OpenStack is a way for OEMs to confront the rule of AWS.

What other vendors are doing

Large OEM vendors support OpenStack, which means that it is no longer simply controlled by Rackspace. With too much support, there have been some disagreements and some lack of real progress. AWS has maintained its leading position thanks to its fast release cycle. It is able to easily shift direction and update features with faster pace. This may be the reason that Citrix moved to the cloudstack of the Apache Software Foundation, a very mature community.

AWS did not win outright. More and more vendors are interested in OpenStack, which means that the advantages of AWS cannot last forever.

Open Cloud computing War

OEM support for OpenStack has the most direct impact on other open clouds. As OpenStack continues to receive support, it is closer to emerging standards. But despite the growing number of supporters, it is hard to conceal the looming problem of the project's code immaturity. Cloudstack, Opennebula and eucalyptus have found their niche in the business.
