EMC partners with service providers into cloud storage

EMC's global Alliance for storage vendors and service provider Marketing senior director Michelle De Hertogh said the expansion was primarily to increase the number of cloud service providers working with EMC, while improving their ability to deliver services to their customers.

De Hertogh said: "Our market focus is on service providers." EMC is not ready to miss the cloud. So we need partners. ”

EMC is looking for better collaboration with cloud service providers to provide backup as a service and storage-as-a-service (SaaS) cloud solution and Reference Architecture for participants in the project.

Backup is a service product that leverages EMC's Avamar backup management software to build a managed or replicated cloud backup solution. SaaS Solutions provide secure cloud storage and enterprise-class security with oxygen cloud collaboration. Oxygen is a private storage cloud technology provider headquartered in Redwood, California, which provides mobile access to files stored locally or on cloud storage.

The company is also preparing to increase the number of service providers in Velocity service Provider program by twice times, inviting partners to join the project and opening the door to partners who are actively applying for membership. "We will let our partners know exactly what they need to do to join, how to achieve certification and what benefits they can get," says De Hertogh. ”

De Hertogh says the solution providers, currently members of the Velocity service Provider Partner (VSSP) project, will be encouraged to join the Velocity service Provider program for the first time.

"For value-added resellers who don't want to run their own cloud products but have customers looking for cloud services, we can let them distribute services from our other VSSP partners," she says. This is not what the service provider is asking for. But our channel runs very well. We will help those service providers who wish to implement the value-added reseller program. ”

De Hertogh says new changes to EMC's velocity Service Provider program will start next January. She says EMC is improving, so partners won't be surprised.
