HP releases cloud OS available for moonshot and other systems

The day after its annual Discover user conference, Hewlett-Packard launched the operating system (OS) Designed for cloud computing, known as the HP Cloud OS. However, in the start-up phase, the software can only be obtained by purchasing HP systems.

Hewlett-Packard's vice president and integrated Cloud general manager Saar Gillai said the HP Cloud OS will provide the foundation for our common architecture of the converged cloud. The company's converged cloud strategy is to unify its internal deployment cloud software and cloud services under the same architecture, enabling customers to easily move workloads between the two. According to a study commissioned by HP, 75% of enterprise workloads will run across mixed clouds, or a combination of cloud systems and public hosting services.

The software can be upgraded automatically and equipped with tools to configure the installer directly from System mode. Customers who want to try this hp Cloud OS on their own systems will need to wait some time. The company provides this OS as part of its own suite of systems, but they also provide "sandbox" versions that users can download and attempt to evaluate.

HP Cloudsystem currently has HP Cloud Os,cloudsystem is a set of HP systems configured to provide internal infrastructure services to specific workloads. Later this year, the Cloud OS will be installed on HP's most recently released Moonshot server, a combination that will work with hosting large Web sites and similar tasks.

"For moonshot, we're going to run Cloud OS and OpenStack on bare metal," Gillai says, which means that the moonshot server does not need the underlying operating system, "which is pretty good innovation and there are no similar products yet." ”

Cloud OS is one of a series of products and services that HP launched at this year's discover conference.

HP announced a number of updates to its cloud IaaS (infrastructure as well as services), which now allows companies to establish VPN (virtual private networks) to connect the internal deployment cloud and its resources on the HP cloud-leveraging HP's progress on software definition networks (SDN).

The service provides a new way to upload large amounts of data to the HP cloud. Now that users can send their hard drives to HP, HP will upload the data itself to HP Cloud block storage and HP cloud object storage services. HP Cloud now offers larger instance types, up to 120GB of RAM and 16 processor cores per instance, which makes the service more suitable for large data analysis and high performance computing workloads.

The company's Autonomy business unit has also introduced new software.

Autonomy has customized its content management software series to provide a managed services suite to help businesses with their marketing campaigns and related metrics.

The Autonomy Marketing configured suite (Marketing performance Suite) provides Web content management, online time-long test and analysis, multimedia content management, and augmented reality services for mobile devices. Customers can use one or more of these services individually or in combination.

Autonomy also updated its Teamsite content management software and upgraded the user interface to meet specific user roles-such as webmasters, editors, and creative publishers-to make it easier for Apple ipad users to manage the entire approval process for publishing new sites.

Autonomy TeamSite 7.4 also has new connectors for CRM (Customer relationship Management) and social media applications, a reference architecture for building e-business platforms that now supports rich media management and e-mail marketing.

Gabriele DiPiazza, vice president of HP Autonomy marketing, said Teamsite can now also serve as a hosting service.

In terms of services, HP has launched a new cloud computing consulting service designed to help businesses work on networks, security and control, and the use of HP's cloud.
