Beijing Time December 11 News, according to foreign media reports, Firefox (Firefox) browser developers Mozilla Foundation said today, has released the Firefox 3.6.13 version, the upgrade version of the repair of the 3.6 12 version of the 13 security vulnerabilities, of which 11 hazard level is "critical" ( unacknowledged), 1 are "advanced" (high), and the other 1 are "medium" (moderate).
Mozilla says that by exploiting these 11 critical vulnerabilities, cyber-criminals can launch remote attacks on users and then install malware into the user's machine. Of the 13 security vulnerabilities that were fixed in this fix, one of them, believed to have been repaired in March of this year, later found that the vulnerability still endangered the user's security and therefore renewed the vulnerability.
Mozilla also upgraded the older Firefox 3.5 version, with the latest version being 3.5.16. Mozilla has previously said that the security and stability upgrades for Firefox version 3.5 will last until August this year. In most cases, Firefox will stop technical support for older versions within half a year after the release of a major upgrade. The Firefox 3.6 edition was officially released this January.
Because of the technical vulnerabilities that concern user security, Mozilla only publishes technical details that are not "critical" vulnerabilities, and does not disclose any technical details of "critical" vulnerabilities. Like Google Chrome, Mozilla will only notify users of security vulnerabilities and numbers in older versions only after the security upgrade is released.
Firefox's next major upgrade, the 4.0 official edition, was scheduled for release by the end of this year. Mozilla said shortly ago that Firefox 4.0 release time will be postponed until early 2011. In November this year, Firefox's global market share was 22.8%, the lowest value since August 2009, according to statistics released earlier this month by the US Internet traffic monitoring agency NET applications.
