Verizon, the largest telecoms operator in the United States, will buy cloud computing software start-up company Http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/13931.html ">cloudswitch," Gigaom reported. The amount of the acquisition is unknown.
Cloudswitch primarily provides services to easily migrate existing software to a variety of cloud computing platforms, supporting Amazon Web Services, Terremark, and Microsoft Windows Azure. The company was released only in 2010, with a financing of 15.4 million dollars in 2009. As a reference, Heroku before and after the financing of 13 million U.S. dollars, and finally salesforce to 212 million U.S. dollars acquisition.
Verizon bought a cloud platform service provider, Terremark, 1.4 billion dollars this January. Cloudswitch will enhance Terremark's software capabilities and overall competitiveness. The Cloudswitch team will report to Terremark president Kerry Bailey.
