Hewlett-Packard today announced a further expansion of the fusion storage product family, the launch of the new federated storage software Hewlett-Packard peer Motion. By using this software, customers can implement load transfer transparent monitoring between the disk systems in virtualized and cloud computing environments.
The launch of the new HP P10000 3PAR storage System, with its powerful features, for the public cloud and private cloud to provide enterprise-class IT services (it as a service). These features include a multi-tenant architecture for workload consolidation, enhanced automated streamlining with high capacity utilization, and automatic load balancing technology to enhance enterprise agility.
According to IDC forecasts, by 2012, 85% of new applications will be designed for the cloud environment and special design (1). The agility of these virtualization and cloud applications needs to be realized through multiple storage systems. The so-called storage union, which reduces the cost, overhead, and service level risk in the datacenter architecture by reducing the additional virtualization device layer.
"20 years ago the storage system architecture was not designed for dynamic it as a service, forcing companies to adopt expensive and inefficient plug-in virtualization," said Mike Prieto, vice president and storage product manager at HP Asia Pacific and Japan. The HP converged storage solution delivers true, point-to-point storage syndication that addresses the unpredictability inherent in an uninterrupted multi-tenant environment while reducing costs, overhead, and service level risks. ”
Flexibility to cope with unpredictable storage requirements
The new HP Peer motion software is designed for HP Lefthand and 3PAR storage systems, with the industry's first point-to-point storage syndication capability to support from Virtual Storage Area network (SAN) software devices to high-end storage systems. HP 3PAR and HP lefthand Peer motion software can help customers:
-Ensure stable productivity and non-disruptive redistribution of workloads to cope with unpredictable environments through joint workload balancing.
-Combined automatic thin provisioning improves ROI, transfers application data to available capacity systems, and enables transparent monitoring of processes to reduce future storage procurement requirements.
-Joint asset management enables the transfer of data non-disruptively from the fallback array to the new system, thereby increasing productivity and eliminating downtime or disruption of services during storage asset updates.
"Our findings confirm what the global IT directors have long suspected," said Steve Duplessie, founder and senior analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group, a full-service it analytics and business strategy. That's the next generation of data center storage. If you continue to use the same approach, the results we want are not achievable. The new HP 3PAR platform is ranked first or top in the open system metrics that we put forward for the primary storage of the data center model. ”
Simplify management and maintain performance
The unique innovation of 3PAR will be continued in HP. In less than a year after HP acquired 3PAR, it launched a new HP P10000 3PAR storage System, which includes two models of V400 and V800 (HP 3PAR v series). The HP 3PAR V series is a powerful business-critical storage system capable of supporting mixed, unpredictable multi-tenant workloads on a single high-performance array. This unique feature, derived from the HP 3PAR Gen4 ASIC, simplifies management by:
-Consolidate unpredictable workloads, such as financial transactions and virtualized application deployments, without the need to manually separate various workloads to different storage resources or storage systems.
-Provides 1.5 times times the port connection and disk resources and three times times the sequence workload performance, such as data analysis, compared to previous 3PAR systems. Article
-When system resources are increased, one key allows all the data in the array to be balanced, increasing the performance and service level availability of all volumes on the system.
Efficiently meet explosive data growth requirements
The data-read-write utilization of the competition storage array is usually only add (3). The HP 3PAR V series avoids the need to purchase unnecessary disk space, which is achieved by leveraging available capacity through the following features:
The-fat-to-thin conversion is three times times bandwidth, allowing customers to quickly transfer data to a more efficient, streamlined configuration volume for higher capacity utilization. (3)
-Use the new "nano-recycle" engine's write and delete data applications to verify and reclaim unused storage capacity in small increments.
-Remote data replication detects and eliminates unused space on traditional volumes, reducing network and remote capacity requirements.
The HP 3PAR V series is the core technology for the new HP Virtualsystem and HP Cloudsystem solutions that integrate hardware, software, and services to accelerate deployment and help enterprises successfully enter an open, mixed cloud environment.
