Earlier this year, Huawei announced that 45000 of its employees were using virtualization solutions from the world's largest desktop cloud collaboration platform.
To take advantage of the benefits of scalability and flexibility from cloud computing, Huawei began using the Desktop virtualization program at its Shanghai Research Center (The Institute) in 2009. Now, more than 45,000 Huawei engineers around the world have experienced the efficiency and convenience of cloud computing in advance.
By using thin client applications, engineers can access their virtual desktops at any time, reducing the physical host and the space footprint and power consumption it brings. Once rows of computers were replaced by rows of LCD screens. Each LCD screen has a small black box behind it, and this small box with only the size of the optical drive is called the Thin client (thin). Engineers can log on to their own virtual machines at any location and truly move the office.
The deployment of this desktop cloud makes it no longer necessary to store data on each PC, but simply store them in a cloud data center. The information store is then centrally managed. Huawei's desktop cloud has also significantly enhanced information security, and for each engineer, more than 1000 virtual desktops are now manageable, significantly improving system management and maintenance efficiencies compared to the previous 100 desktop systems.
Compared with the traditional desktop system, the use of desktop cloud can significantly reduce hardware input and management costs, compared to the traditional IT environment hardware configuration can be reduced by 55%, power consumption reduced by 73%. Unified Desktop Cloud Platform, the engineer's code files can be uniformly stored in the data center, eliminating the personal computer potential security risks, improve information security. Most importantly, it can be a perfect implementation of it application load balancing. During the day, most IT resources are allocated to office automation and Research and development, and are assigned to automated tests at night. This solution greatly improves the use of resources.
Huawei Singlecloud solution is mainly designed for cloud services ' cloud computing data center and enterprise users, based on the Singlecloud solution, cloud service providers can build a web-based office environment, and also provide servers, storage equipment rental services for enterprises, especially SMEs.
Huawei Singlecloud Solution Scenario
The above illustration shows Huawei Singlecloud services for different enterprise end users, and the data center in the figure is responsible for delivering Singlecloud services to end users:
1, it Resource Manager: It Resource Manager Management data Center
2. Thin Client (TC): In a virtual desktop environment, it resource managers create TC end users and allocate virtual computing resources. TC Client access to data center via TC client and office via virtual desktop
3. VPS Users: In the VPS service mode, the enterprise rents the server from the data center
4, OBS users: Online virtual storage mode, OBS object storage service users from the data center rental storage resources
We can divide the functionality provided by the Singlecloud data center:
Computing resources-provides computing capabilities for the entire data center;
Storage resources-provides storage capabilities for the entire data center;
Desktop management--application in Virtual desktop environment, provide virtual desktop management and functional access;
Cloud Platform Management-managing and maintaining the entire data center;
network resources-Provide network access to the entire data center, including providing connectivity services for intranet and extranet.
Huawei Singlecloud Solution hardware devices are flexible in different configuration sizes to meet the requirements of different cloud service providers.
Huawei Singlecloud hardware platform includes cloud server, cloud storage and cloud network. The cloud server includes a Management server, a compute server, and a storage server. In Huawei server products, RH2285, E6000 and T600 can serve as management servers and compute servers. The storage server may choose Huawei RH2285 Storage Server. Under the cloud storage type, you can choose S5600 with more storage capacity and greater performance. Cloud Network is optional S9312, S9306 as the core switch, Eudemon 1000E, Eudemon 8080E as a firewall, SVN3000 as a gateway.
In the software architecture, you can refer to the following frame diagram.

How to design, deploy, and implement cloud computing solutions, Huawei Singlecloud uses a schema similar to the following:
Network subsystem +rh2285 Cloud Management + Desktop Management +rh2285 Compute server multi-channel SAN storage
The physical network architecture is shown in the following illustration:

Below, we introduce Huawei Singlecloud Desktop cloud depth experience.
1, in the Web UI portal with the Administrator account login Singlecloud om system
Login to Singlecloud o&m system via Admin account
2, enter the system, in the account management, create a new administrator user, the following figure:
Create a new administrator account from the OM Web portal
3, after the creation of success, login Singlecloud om system, login after the success of the following display:
Create a successful new account login Singlecloud om system
To configure the cluster resources for OM users, first, you need to create a OMP account and successfully log on through the Web UI portal, then enter the system, modify account attributes in account management, and allow users to operate on the cluster resources;
Om Admin Modify omp account Resource control range
And for the creation of self-service new users, the process is also relatively simple. First, the user registered cloud self-service account SU1,RM account will be accepted for SU1 account application, and then SU1 the successful opening, through the Web interface login system.
Account Application
Login to the system, fill in the SU1 registration information
After the approval, the SU1 account can be logged into the system
SU1 Login Successful
Log on to the cloud computing operations support system via a self-service user account, but when you enter the PO, users can create virtual machines. The following illustration shows a cloud user creating 4 Windows 7 64-bit virtual machines through an existing service pack.
Create 4 virtual machines from self-service
PO submitted successfully, requires RM account audit
Users can also use the OMP account to successfully log on to the system, into the monitor and Topology page, it will display the entire Singlecloud topology and real-time resource status information:
