"Tenkine Enterprise Storage channel September 12" Intel Information Technology Summit, San Francisco, September 12, 2012. Today, unprecedented growth in equipment, connectivity, and data is driving an important shift in data centers. To meet this need, today's data centers must provide better and faster connectivity, smarter and more innovative to add more services and store more data. At the same time, the introduction of various large data analysis tools and High-performance computing tools gives IT departments more opportunities to enhance their strategic value. They can use these tools to launch better products and services at an unprecedented rate.

At the Intel Information Technology Summit (IDF) today, Beanna, vice president of Intel Corporation and general manager of the data center and interconnected Systems Division, described the new products and plans in detail and shared Intel's overall strategy-to continuously meet customer needs and effectively enhance collaboration with ecosystem partners, At the same time, it continues to introduce innovative technologies ranging from computing to network architecture, thus laying the foundation for supporting a "new generation" of data centers and devices.

Launch the Intel Cloud Search Program

Intel today announced the launch of a unique pairing program called the intel® Cloud Search (Intel®cloud Finder) to improve the speed of searching and selecting cloud service providers. Now, while many IT decision-makers are eager to take advantage of cloud computing, it is not easy to choose a cloud service provider because of the need to take a holistic view. The Intel Cloud Search program simplifies the process by leveraging rich online tools and resources, shortening lengthy search processes, and sharing information about best practices and strategies for deploying public clouds.

By working closely with leading cloud service providers, Intel has identified a number of important criteria for a comprehensive assessment of its services. These standards include security, ease of use, quality, availability, technology, and specific business functions for these provider products. Intel Cloud Search is announced online at the Intel Information Technology Summit and is open to the public to support enterprise IT decision makers using information for research, comparisons, and buying public cloud services for their companies. Currently, more than 13 leading cloud service providers have joined the program, including applied Innovations, Atos, Dimension Data, expedient, Gogrid, Joyent, Metascale, NaviSite, QTS, Rackspace, Savvis, SoftLayer, Tier 3 and Virtustream. Two years ago, Intel announced the launch of the Intel Cloud Building program, which is dedicated to providing a reference framework for customers who want to accelerate the deployment of cloud infrastructure. Today, the launch of the Intel Cloud Search provides an important complement to the former. These online resources and tools work together to provide the enterprise it decision-makers with the necessary information to support their deployment of a private cloud that incorporates public cloud services into the IT agenda.

Big data: Major transformational opportunities

"Internet of Things" is an important driver of large data. Meanwhile, the massive data generated by the 15 billion devices that will be connected to the Internet by 2015 cannot be overlooked. This explosive growth is expected to bring many opportunities to the industry, along with a number of it challenges. To address the challenge and simplify the "Internet of Things", Intel today announced the launch of the Intel Smart System framework. The framework includes a series of evolving and interoperable solutions designed to provide connectivity, manageability, and security for different devices in a consistent, scalable manner. It will eliminate the need for integrated hardware and software, giving users more time to mine valuable data that exists in intelligent systems. By analyzing large data, you can help companies improve business efficiency, improve productivity, and create new revenue-generating services, while providing consumers with a new and exceptional experience.

A number of companies have announced support for the Smart Systems framework, including Advantech technology, Arrow Electronics, Avnet, Axeda, Dell, Digi Analysys, Control, McAfee, AAC, Webhouse and wind River.

Intel also announced today that it is working with Amazon Web Services to provide high-performance computing (HPC) services for large data analysis in the cloud by leveraging the intel® xeon® processor E5 product family servers. Amazon Web Services has a computing cluster that ranks among the world's top 500 supercomputer lists. The company also described how to support clients of different sizes, including NASA, Yelp and many other customers, to access the computing cluster to use their public cloud services for large data analysis.

New 22 nm process intel® xeon® processor

Intel also provides a detailed description of the two upcoming intel® xeon® processors today. Their launch will further consolidate Intel's position in the data center. These two processors include:

intel® xeon® Processor E5 Family-Intel announces a new upgrade to the E5 family (formerly named "Ivy Bridge-ep") is expected to start production in 2013. These processors will take the Intel 22 nanometer process technology and be equipped with the world's first batch of 3-d-three-grid transistor, which will bring first-class performance, excellent energy efficiency and strong hardware-based security features.

intel® xeon® Processor E7 family-next-generation intel® xeon® processors The E7 family (formerly named "Ivy Bridge-ex") is expected to start production in 2013 and will also adopt the Intel 22 Nano process technology. The processor family will provide additional benefits, including higher performance, new advanced reliability features, and hardware-based enhanced security features.

Open Data Center alliance: cloud Adoption rate rising

The Open Data Center Alliance (ODCA), which is Intel's technical advisor, released its 2012 membership survey results. The survey showed that the member's cloud adoption rate was 15% higher than the previous estimate. More than half of the members surveyed wanted to put more than 40% of IT work in a private cloud, while 25% wanted more than 40% of the business to be handled in the public cloud. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), human resources, finance, and sales and marketing are the main applications that promote the rapid adoption of cloud technology by members. The survey also showed that 13% of the surveyed members followed the ODCA requirements in making procurement decisions, which went far beyond the alliance's expectations. At the same time, two-thirds of the league members said that in the next 24 months, the ODCA use model will be included in their procurement decisions. To date, ODCA has released 16 application models covering security syndication, automation, transparency, and many other areas.

Data Center Network architecture

With high performance Computing (HPC) and cloud growth, data centers need new innovations to meet ever-changing needs. The consolidation of the network architecture can help eliminate bottlenecks by extending bandwidth, reducing power consumption, and increasing system density to ensure that data is freely available in the cloud and HPC workloads.

By acquiring the assets of Cray, QLogic and Fulcrum, Intel will be able to meet this challenge with the network Architecture technology innovation and CPU platform integration. These assets provide Intel with world-class interconnection, network architecture management and software, Shishou and low base switch products, Ethernet products, and a wealth of platform expertise. Intel has now started shipping QDR HCA and switching systems that have been purchased from Qlogic and optimized for High-performance Computing (HPC).

Intel also launched the Seacliff Trail Customer Reference Board today for the Software Definition Network (SDN). Seacliff Trail uses an intel® Ethernet FM6764 switch chip specifically designed for SDN to provide unprecedented framework parsing capabilities and programmable pattern matching tables with very low latency. intel® Ethernet FM6764 supports OpenFlow v1.0, as well as extensions such as Vxlan and Nvgre. In addition to the Seacliff Trail reference design, Intel will provide a software framework from wind River to help customers develop SDN solutions.

Intel and Mini Servers

At today's summit, Dell, the United States and Taian demonstrated their products based on the intel® xeon® processor E3 product family, as well as the products based on the intel® core™ processor S Series (formerly known as "Centerton"). All of these presentations highlight Intel's industry leadership in the field of micro-servers, broad industry support and strong market demand. In collaboration with customers, Intel also uses a micro-server assessment lab to encourage developers to test their software on a variety of Intel Architecture Micro servers to ensure that they are able to achieve excellent software compatibility across a variety of Intel architecture products.
