Oracle (Oracle) announced at the company's annual OpenWorld meeting in San Francisco last week that it was trying to become a iaashttp://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/13743.html "> Public cloud service providers. In this respect, foreign science and Technology blog wrote that, if the lack of innovation, Oracle and other companies will be difficult to become the AWS killer, and gave the Oracle innovation path suggestions. Here's what the article is about:

Oracle jumps into the cloud market as a public IaaS provider, which means another big company follows the butt of Amazon's AWS service. Oracle executives believe they will be able to take over the market, but I don't think so, and I even suspect that it will weigh on Oracle's sales.

Chairman Ellison (Larry Ellison) said Oracle's cloud computing would use Oracle's operating system, VM, compute Services, Exadata run on storage services, Exalogic, and Exalytics, which are connected via InfiniBand. Oracle will provide a private cloud based on the same technology to run and manage the customer's data center, "Ellison added."

In some of my previous blogs, the lack of innovation has been a problem for suppliers to enter the cloud market. Oracle has fallen into this unfortunate trend: Every company tries to enter the public cloud market as an "AWS killer". But their actions show that they will not succeed.

As I became the CTO of a large technology company and entered the defining and dominant market for other technology providers, I quickly discovered that I needed to find another way to simply replicate their technology as a strategy. Oracle has yet to learn the lesson. Perhaps Oracle believes its vast user base will accept its claims without hesitation. If so, the High-tech industry is riddled with failures based on such assumptions.

So what are the innovative ways that technology companies such as Oracle have to enter the cloud market?

First, focus on the missing parts of the emerging cloud computing market. After all, it is emerging, so there are a lot of gaps to be filled. Obvious vulnerabilities such as service management, service configuration, and cloud security need to be better addressed. This means providing subsystems and functions that are quite different from the current dominant offerings. It's not too late to do some technical innovation outside the hat of cloud computing.

Second, rethink potential technology. The market is being touted as cloud computing, mostly rewriting existing technology models, including storage and computing, as resources for a shareable and traceable Internet. Perhaps cloud computing should also be about new technology patterns, like new consumption patterns.

For example, the ability to make intelligent computing models and infrastructure management peace can be considered. Freeing people from a large number of operational decisions, allowing resources to be managed based on the needs of application instances, and understanding current and future resource requirements through highly complex predictability and organic models.

I'm just shaking out a few tricks here, but those "AWS killers" need to get started.

Innovate, it's easier than you think.
