A few weeks later, 55 million students in the United States are about to return to school. Usually, in their schoolbags, they carry pens, number 2nd pencils and calculators. But most students also take an artifact that their parents never thought of: smartphones.

Smartphones have changed everything. Mobile technology has upended America's working environment and is now going to change the education system.

Entrepreneurs and educators have tried to bring educational technology to the classroom, but the popularity of students is low. Educational technology now focuses on mobile devices and new applications that are free and easy to use. To date, more than 750 million educational applications worldwide have been installed on mobile devices.

Teachers can choose from a range of educational content to create a more personalized and engaging learning experience. 70% of Teens (13-17 years) have smartphones, according to market research published by Nielsen in 2013. Moreover, the PRC Research Center found in 2012 that teens are not using smartphones on an occasional basis: the average person sends 60 messages a day, and many even send more than 100.

The Khan Academy is a good example of how new technologies can create more personalized and appealing education. Free and interactive course videos that allow students to stay in their own places and have personal control panels to get some recommended courses. Now there are 10 million users on YouTube's Khan college channel watching nearly 500 million times a month.

Duolingo (Our 36 Krypton also interviewed its CEO OH) is also a great language learning application that will tailor the practice to the student's progress. Each month, 9 million users complete 15 million classes in six languages. In the area of personalized education, Quizlet is also an online library that provides flashcards, tests, and games for 22 million users a month, and the library has 50 million learning materials, including a range of topics ranging from Mandarin to university courses (such as art history).

In addition to the innovations in these courses, there are simple and effective communication applications. Matthew Kraft and Shaun Dougherty, of Harvard University, said in a 2012 report that communication between teachers and parents increased the likelihood of students completing their homework by more than 40%. If the teacher, students and parents communicate between the three, learning effect significantly improved.

The leader of this is remind, a free application that allows teachers to send text messages safely to students and parents without revealing their mobile numbers. Remind also turned the texting function into a radio station, saving time when informing students and parents. In the United States, one-fifth of teachers use remind, while in Texas, more than two-fifths of teachers use them.
Other applications, such as Edmodo, support students in working together. Edmodo, like Facebook's social-learning platform, now has millions of users.

All along, we all know, are excellent teachers, motivated students and parents, set up a cornerstone of successful education. Now, free and powerful apps are improving the learning process.
