New PHP development tools for Microsoft Cloud Computing Companion

Recently, a surprise for PHP developers and administrators interested in deploying applications on Windows Azure, Windows Azure Companion, a new tool unveiled by Microsoft. Updated Windows Azure Tools for Eclipse-for-PHP and Windows Azure command-line tools for PHP.
Only Windows Azure Companion is a new tool, and the rest is a newer version of the update or old tool Interfacesupport. Windows Azure Companion can be used to install PHP platform components (PHP Runtime, extensions), or PHP Web applications on Azure.
Windows Azure Companion uses the Atom feed as a configuration file that contains the names and URLs of the components required for the Web application you want to run. Vijay Rajagopalan, chief architect of the Microsoft Interoperability Strategy Division (Interoperability strategy), said: "The early versions of Companion are primarily for PHP, but they can be scaled to deploy" Any open source component or application running in Windows Azure. Rajagopalan does not explain which non-PHP Web applications can be deployed to azure, but it seems to be possible by editing the feeds and using companion.
Windows Azure for Eclipse for the PHP September CTP updates the Eclipse plug-in to support the latest enhancements in Windows Azure SDK 1.2, released in June 2010, and to prepare for the final edition of November. The new features are:

Code templates that support Windows Azure in the PHP editor
Windows Azure Diagnostics Support
Integrated Open source AppFabric SDK for PHP developers
Support for executing PHP scripts in worker role

Enhanced project file conversion capabilities
Manageable application Deployment
PHP.ini and PHP folders can be exposed in web role applications
Windows Azure Drive for PHP developers Support

Windows Azure command-line Tools for PHP allows administrators to package PHP applications and deploy them to Azure through a command-line interface. The CTP version of September will add support for web and worker role. This tool does not take into account all deployments, and some need to be companion.
Windows Azure SDK for PHP enables developers to take advantage of Azure's services in their applications-large file storage, tables, queues, and so on. Some of the new features in this 2.0 release are:
PHP classes that can invoke Windows Azure Blobs, tables, and queues functionality (CRUD operations can be done)
Auxiliary classes for HTTP transport, Authn/authz, rest, and error management
manageability, facilities, and log support
Support for storing PHP sessions in Azure Table storage
