Infinetics, a start-up enterprise based in Massachusetts, is developing a software platform for data center switches and chips designed to significantly reduce the cost per GB per second of switch ports and reduce latency when these switches support more and more servers. Infineticshttp://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/35685.html "> Chief Marketing Officer Anthony Antonuccio said We are a threat or opportunity for the architecture of major switch vendors such as Cisco's Fabricpath and Juniper network qfabric.

The ability of your datacenter structure to support millions of of servers at lower cost and power may not be due to the progress of your major switch makers or the standards they may support. This may be due to the agreement between your switch manufacturer and some small private enterprise that is developing software designed to accomplish this task.

One such company is Infinetics, a start-up enterprise based in Massachusetts. The company developed a software platform for data center switches and chips designed to significantly reduce the cost per second per GB of switch ports and reduce latency when these switches support more and more servers. The company's products enable easy network virtualization to overcome the limit on the number of ports per switch in a structured solution that occurs when major vendors are supporting multiple data centers in a cloud computing environment.

Anthony Antonuccio, chief marketing officer at Infinetics, said we were a threat or opportunity to the architecture of the major switch makers such as Cisco's Fabricpath and Juniper Qfabric.

Infinetics is not the only vendor in the game. Other vendors with similar recommendations include Nicira, Big Switch NX, Contextream and VMware.

Infinetics is negotiating with key data center infrastructure and switch vendors about adding its products to these vendors ' products. Antonuccio said that the most in-depth negotiations are Arista NX, IBM, HP and South Korea openflow switch manufacturer Pica8.

Arista says Infinetics Software and other network virtualization vendors will integrate its EOS operating system to optimize the cloud environment.

Doug Gourlay, vice president of marketing, said Arista is using a number of controller products to build an open, EOS based network platform to improve the 10GB-per-second switching capabilities that integrate with cloud architectures, while reducing cost and power consumption while improving cloud network virtualization.

IBM and HP are reluctant to comment. Infinetics software is also compatible with KVM and Jie management programs, the company officials said.

Infinetics's software sounds incredibly good. This software is designed for networks without limits and does not affect the cost or performance of other vendor architectures. This software improves throughput to accommodate the increased number of switches and servers, while supporting all modes of communication.

Infinetics officials say the software has a "long hop" structure that extends the ability to minimize latency and maximize throughput for any number of nodes. It supports a unified control and management console that makes all the switches and management programs in a network appear to be an automatically managed switch with security policies, quality of service, and load balancing instructions that support scripting.

Infinetics said it could reduce costs and power consumption by 13 times and 6 times times for structures built using Cisco Nexus, Juniper Ex, Arista 7500, Brocade vdx and Force10 e-series switches. This is what Antonuccio says about opportunities and threats.

Infinetics officials say negotiations with Arista are making progress, but negotiations with IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Cisco and Juniper Networks have made it hard to break through. That may be because these vendors have more data center products and cloud architecture products and want to use their own schemas to process the same attributes as Infinetics software.

Or, these vendors may think they don't need infinetics technology.

A Cisco spokeswoman said Cisco did not comment on speculation and rumours about the progress of the products that had not been released.

Infinetics chief scientist Chris Williams says structural recommendations based on Clos or Trill, such as Fabricpath and Qfabric, are only slightly better than the current data architecture. The number of ports per switch is itself the limit for upgrades.

Infinetics recommends the use of so-called "radix" (base) switches that can be run on a commercial switch and a major vendor's structural switch. Cardinality is the mathematical term for this foundation, and is a unique number of digits used by a digital system to represent numbers. In a computer, it is a binary system or two cardinality: 0 and 1.

Williams says the Infinetics base switch creates a "real" flat two-tier network by suppressing broadcast discovery ARP messages and controlling Mac-forwarding dimensions. It uses proprietary signaling to optimize latency and bandwidth in an Ethernet frame type that is not used, supports multiple paths and supports a symmetric structure that allows for bypass failover, adapts to change and quickly converges around them, and chooses alternate paths for load balancing.

For security, the Infinetics base switch provides a single identification point for all additional points and service point sources, and supports cluster based device isolation across both physical and virtual networks. By doing this, the base switch will include the load balancer, NAT, and firewall capabilities to save network infrastructure, power, and employee wages.

Because it uses a standard Ethernet frame type, a switch without infinetics functionality can forward infinetics frames like other communications by ignoring this proprietary signaling scheme, Williams said. Therefore, it can run in a mixed environment with infinetics functionality and no infinetics function.

Infinetics software is currently used in Fulcrum chips for Arista and PICA8 switches. Many data center switch vendors are waiting to publish the Broadcom trident+ chipset. However, Infinetics officials did not confirm that this was the next import platform for their software.

Williams says the next import platform will be determined by the growth of our strategic relationship.

Beta-infinetics switches are expected to be launched later this year. The commercialized switch is expected to be launched in the first half of next year. This software can complement programmable switches with OpenFlow functions. This switch can separate the flow control from the switch itself. However, it is an alternative product for multiple data center standards, such as trill and shortest path bridging.

We have made great strides in Trll and shortest path bridging, Williams said. This is how to determine the different ways to route through a network.
