With some previous reports, we can see that our Hyper-V virtualization environment is almost ready, from the shared storage we've configured and added to Iscci, but it's still a little bit worse for Hyper-V clusters with high availability. To prepare the most important components for Hyper-V clustering, the quorum disk for the cluster.

We open the file and storage server on the ISCSI target host-ISCSI, because we have previously created the shared storage for Hyper-V hosts, so here we right-click the space to create a new ISCSI virtual disk.

The new iSCSI Virtual Disk Wizard is then started, and we follow the wizard and then specify the name of the virtual disk.

You then need to specify the size of the quorum disk, because the quorum disks are used primarily for quorum of cluster nodes, and 1GB\2GB is not required.

Since our server already has iSCSI targets, we choose to create a new one here to make the difference.

You can refer to our virtual disk name in the target name and access location, and we'll stop talking about it here. At the location of the access server, we can click Add and specify the servers that can access this iSCSI virtual disk, and we'll add all the Hyper-V hosts.

In the configuration Enable authentication service location, we still leave the default, click Next.

In the confirmation step, we can see the configuration information for our entire iSCSI virtual disk, and then click Create to confirm the error.

You can successfully create an iSCSI virtual disk in a few moments.

As we mentioned earlier, there are already very few virtualized hosts using iSCSI shared storage, but if the virtualization host cluster uses an iSCSI quorum disk, this is a good quorum configuration. So here's a little bit about how to prepare an iSCSI-based virtual quorum disk. In the next article, we will mount the quorum disk on all Hyper-V hosts and set it as the quorum disk for the Hyper-V cluster.
