CentOS Installation Configuration

Open VMware and click on the "Create New virtual Machine" button.

Select "Install the operating system later" for "next".

Select the corresponding "guest operating system" and the corresponding "version", where we Select "Linux", "CentOS", and then "next".

Set the name, user name, password, and then next.

Set "virtual machine name" and "Location", and then "next".

Specify the disk capacity by default and continue to "next".

Click "Custom Hardware", you can set the memory, processor, network adapter, etc., here first set up the mirror, about the network and other settings explained later.

Select "CD/DVD (IDE)", select "Use ISO image File", click "Browse" to select the previously downloaded image file, and then "OK".

Click "Finish" and wait patiently for the installer to boot and go to the Linux installation screen.

Click "Install or upgrade an existing system" menu, press ENTER, then wait for the boot of the installer.

When the boot is complete, a pop-up window asks if you want to check for media, or skip if you don't need to click the Skip button.

Click "Next" to continue the installation.

Select the installation language, this step click the Chinese (Simplified) menu, and then click Next to continue.

Select the System keyboard, click the English-American menu, and then click Next to continue.

Specify the storage media installed here, generally select "Basic storage Device" (such as the local hard disk), click "Next" to continue.

At this point, the pop-up window asks if you want to format the existing storage device, and the formatting clears all the data, so be careful to choose.

Enter the hostname, the hostname can be customized, composed of numbers, letters and the next arc, click the Next button to continue.

Here is the time zone selection, select the "Asia/Shanghai" time zone from the drop-down menu and click the "Next" button to continue

Set the admin password for root account (root), and then click "Next" button to continue, remember the password you entered.

Note: If the password is too simple, there is another hint that you can choose: use anyway.

The choice of installation type is an important step in the installation process. If you have a brand new computer with no operating system or data on your hard disk, you can select the Auto Partition feature, and the installer will automatically allocate disk space and swap space based on the size of the disk and memory, and establish the appropriate partition.

When the partition information is saved, you will be prompted to click "Write changes to Hard disk".

Congratulations, the CentOS installation is complete. Click "Reboot" to enter the system.

The process of the first reboot of the system may be slow, after the boot need to accept the protocol, set the date and the user, it is recommended to set a normal user, in daily operation, as far as possible with ordinary user identity operation.
