Comparison of browser performance on Windows and Ubuntu platforms

Test environment:

Hardware: AMD Athlon II X2 235e, AMD Radeon HD 6700, 6 GB RAM

System: Windows 7 SP1 x64, Ubuntu 12.04x64

Browser version: Chrome 18.0.1025.151 (32-bit); Firefox 14.0.1 (32-bit); Opera 12.0 (32-bit ).

Test content:Peacekeeper; Dromaeo DOM Core; Impact HTML5; GUIMark-HTML5 Vector Chart; and Kraken.

Test results:

From the test results, we can see that Chrome's performance on the Ubuntu platform is about 14% better than that on the Windows platform.

Firefox has a performance of about 36% higher than Ubuntu on Windows.

The performance of operabrowser on Windows is about 9% higher than that on Ubuntu.
