1. The composition of the window

Before you can use Windows skillfully, you must understand the composition of its windows, that is, the elements that make up the window. The following illustration shows a typical window of Windows that includes the following elements in the window.

(1) Title bar and window title. The title bar is the horizontal bar at the top of the window that contains the window title, which is the name of the window, such as My computer, My Documents, Control Panel, and so on.

(2) menu bar. Typically, the menu bar appears below the window's title bar, in the form of menu bars. An optional menu item is listed in the menu bar to provide various operational functions, such as "file", "edit", "view", and so on, in the menu bar of the My Computer window.

(3) toolbar. The toolbar is located below the menu bar. The content is a variety of optional tools, which consist of a number of command buttons, each button represents a tool that deletes a file or folder by using the Delete command button, and you can use the Property command button to view the properties of the file (folder), including the type, size, and how many files are included in the clip.

(4) control the dish to hold the button. It is located at the left end of the window title. It can be used to open the Control menu of the window, and in the menu, there are options for maximizing, minimizing, and closing windows.

(5) Maximize, minimize, and Close buttons. There are 3 buttons on the right side of the window title bar. Single-hit Maximize button, which enlarges the window to the maximum (occupies the entire desktop). When the window is maximized, the Maximize button becomes the Restore button, clicked, and restores the window to its original size. Click the Minimize button on the left to shrink the window to the taskbar. If you want to close the window, click the Close button.

(6) scroll bar. When the window is not large enough to display the contents of the entire file (document), you can use the scroll box at the bottom or right of the window (moving right or down) to observe the remainder of the file (document).

(7) window border. The edge of the grid that defines the perimeter of the window is called the window border. You can change the size of the window by using the mouse to move a border, or you can use the mouse to move one corner of the window to change the position of the window's two borders to change the position and size of the window.

(8) Work area. The area inside the window is called the work area.

2. The nature of the window

(1) The State of the window. When the user double-clicks icon A and opens the corresponding window A, the window is activated. At this point, the user can see all the elements in window A, and the window title bar is high brightness blue. The activated window's application runs in the foreground, and it can receive information entered by the user. If the user double-clicks the GE B and opens window B, window B is active. At this point, window a becomes inactive and window A is 蒗 by window B. This window, although it is open but inactive, is called an open state. On a Windows98 desktop, you allow multiple windows that are open at the same time, but only one window is active, that is, only one application runs in the foreground, and the rest of the programs run in the background.

(2) the window changes. The user can use the mouse to change the size of the window and its position on the desktop. Therefore, you can use the mouse to drag the window's border or the corner of the window to change the size of the window, 乂 Maximize or minimize the window by maximizing and minimizing buttons or control menus.
