Install the Windows XP tutorial on Windows Vista

Because Windows Vista and Windows XP are booted differently, when you install XP on WindowsVista, you can break WindowsVista's system startup files and go to the Windows Startup Manager window. Cause the WindowsVista system to be unable to use. Therefore, after the installation of Windows XP, but also to repair the WindowsVista system boot files, so you can use the dual system, the following steps:

Step 1: CD-ROM Boot

Reboot the computer into the BIOS, set the optical drive as the first boot, and put the Windows XP system CD into the CD drive for CD-ROM booting, as shown in the image on the right.

Step 2: Go to the Windows installation interface

Step 6: Format the partition

The system begins to format the partition as shown in the following illustration.

Step 7: Copy the Windows Setup files

Start copying the Windows installation files to your hard disk, as shown in the following illustration.

Step 8: Go to Windows window Setup mode

After copying the installation files, the system restarts the computer and then goes to Windows installation mode, as shown in the following illustration.

Step 9: Personal settings

Windows window mode after each option is installed, the computer restarts, and then personal settings, as shown in the following illustration.

Step 10: Install complete

Once the personal settings are complete, the XP operating system is installed on the Windows desktop as shown in the following illustration.

Step 11: Start the Bcdautofix software

Below, restore the WindowsVista system boot file, download and start the Bcdautofix software, press any key on the keyboard to start automatically repairing the system boot file, as shown in the following figure.

Step 12: Press any key to exit after the fix is finished

Start the automatic repair of the system boot file and press any key to exit after the repair completes, as shown in the following figure.

Step 13: Enable Windows Startup Manager to select a dual system

When you restart your computer, the Windows Startup Manager window pops up, where you can choose whether to use Windows XP or the WindowsVista operating system, as shown in the following illustration.
