I have recently published a number of posts on Visual Studio 2010 productivity enhancements that are mainly featured by Visual Studio integration. Today I will highlight the Visual Studio extensions that will enhance the coding experience of Visual Studio 2010 Professional, Advanced, and flagship users.
As I introduced a few months ago, one of the areas where the great improvement in VS 2010 is scalability. The new extensible API enables third parties to customize the IDE or add new functionality to the IDE, and the new Extension Manager (Extension Manager) and Visual Studio Gallery simplify the extended publishing and search process. Just this week, the number of Visual Studio 2010 extensions on Visual Studio Gallery exceeded 1000, and Visual Studio users expanded by more than 750,000 downloads! Here are some of the extensions that I like better.
Color theme Editor (colors Theme Editor)
Do you feel that the default color configuration of Visual Studio doesn't fit your taste? You can download the visual Studio Color Theme editor to customize the VS color configuration. You can choose what you want from a list of out-of-the-box topics in the expansion pack, or you can download and install other people's topics, or modify existing topics. You can also create your own theme from scratch, and then export and share your theme.
One of my favorite themes is blend-like theme, the designer is Roland Auer. To make the appearance of VS more uniform, I also introduced the editor style of shades of grey. Here you can find more editor styles to match the appearance of vs. The following are the results of my configuration:
Productivity Toolset (Productivity power tools)
Visual Studio Productivity Power tools comes from the Visual Studio team. This toolset provides a series of good features for editors and Ides. I can't elaborate on all the features here, but here are my favorites:
