Windows 8.1 Update new features

1. When you open a modern app, does the taskbar still appear?

A: When modern app is in use, the taskbar is hidden, but when you move the mouse pointer over the bottom of the screen, you can see the taskbar. When you continue to use the application, it will automatically disappear. It works like the taskbar Auto Hide feature. When using the modern app, the taskbar is visible only when using the mouse, trackpad, or other pointing device, when the mouse pointer hovers over the top or bottom of the application window. It does not show up in touch mode.

2. Do you have a shortcut to make the taskbar appear when you run Windows Store apps?

A: There is no keyboard shortcut, but you can display the taskbar by moving the mouse to the bottom of the page. It works like the taskbar Auto Hide feature.

3. In a 8-inch tablet, will the power/search key be displayed at the start screen?

A: The power button will only be displayed in a flat setting, not maintaining a network connection standby, and a screen greater than or equal to 8.5 inches. So the 8-inch tablet doesn't see the power button on the boot screen. The search button will be displayed on the Start screen on all devices.

4. Because Windows RT maintains a standby state for network connections, all RT devices do not see the power button on the Start screen, do they?

Answer: Yes.

5. Are there any changes to Skype in Windows 8.1 update?

Answer: no change.

6. If I don't want the taskbar and minimize options in all interfaces, can I keep it in Windows 8?

A: No, you cannot remove the new view taskbar and application minimize options, nor can you remove the modern apps shutdown option. Note, however, that these options are visible only when you use the mouse, touch pad, or other pointing device by hovering the mouse pointer at the top or bottom of the application window. They are not displayed in touch mode.

7. Is the screen resolution or actual screen size limited to the small screen?

Answer: Depending on the actual screen size.

8. Can the computer settings and folders such as the Block lock on the start screen?

Answer: Yes. You can select these have application settings to lock to the start screen in all application views.

9. Will the power button be placed in the taskbar in the future?

A: The shutdown option is now available in Windows 8.1 Right click on the Start button in the taskbar and click "Shutdown or Logoff"

Does Windows 8.1 support Miracast projection?

A: If your computer is pre-installed with Windows 8.1 or Windows RT 8.1, and your wireless monitor supports Miracast, you can add a wireless monitor to your computer to complete the connection and start projecting. However, if you have upgraded your computer from an earlier version of Windows, you must make sure that your computer supports Miracast and is ready for projection. In addition, if the display you are about to project does not support Miracast, then you need to set up the monitor by adding additional hardware to it before you can begin the projection.
