Windows 8 allows programs or functions to pass through the firewall

Applicability:
Windows 8 Consumer Preview
Procedure:
1. Press the "Windows" and "x" keys on the keyboard and click "control panel ";
2. Go to the Control Panel and click "system and security ";

3. Go to the system and security interfaces, and click "allow applications to use Windows Firewall ";



4. Click "Change settings" to add, change, or delete all permitted programs or ports;



5. Select a program or port and click "OK" to allow the program to pass the firewall;



6. Click "Allow another app" to enter the page for adding a program;



7. On this page, you can select the program to be added in the list, or click "browse" to add a program that does not appear in the list, and then click "add" to add the program.

 

Set firewall rules for different network locations

1. Go to the control panel ";



2. Select "Windows Firewall ";



3. Allow programs to pass the Windows Firewall;



4. Click "Change Settings ";



5,You can set the network environment in which each program is allowed to pass through. If you want to add a program, set the firewall in different network locations as follows: Select the "Allow another app ..." Button;



6,In the new program, select "network location type ";


                                              

7,The network location type is selected,Select as needed to implement different settings in different network environments.
