Hide files using virtual disks on Windows 7
I used a virtual disk to hide files on Windows 7. I only verified the files on Windows 7. Other models are unknown.
1. Create a Virtual Disk
1. Right-click "computer" ----- "management" ------ "disk management" ----- "operation" ------ "create VHD"
2. Click Browse, select the location where the virtual disk file is saved, and fill in the file name
3. Set the virtual hard disk size. We will use M as an example.
4. The new disk is displayed on the disk management page. Initialization is required before use, just like other disks. Right-click the disk and select "initialize disk". In the displayed window, click OK.
5. Create a volume below
Right-click the blank area of the disk and select "new simple volume"
In the pop-up window, click "Next" and click Finish. Now, the virtual disk is created successfully. Open the computer and you can see that the newly added volume G is what we just created.
2. Make the created disk invisible to the computer
Right-click "computer"> "management"> "disk management", right-click the created disk, and select "offline ". Open the computer and you will find that the disk G is invisible.
3. Although double-click the computer to view the disk, the disk can still be viewed in Computer Management and the display status is offline.
Is there a way to hide it more thoroughly? There is a way.
Right-click the created disk and select "detach VHD ". Click OK in the pop-up window. Note: Do not select the option box before deleting a virtual hard disk file after deleting the disk. Do not select it! You only need to delete this disk. Now, we cannot see this disk in the Computer Management window.
To re-display the disk, click "operations"> "append vhd" in the Computer Management window. In the displayed window, click "Browse" and select the file you saved when creating the virtual disk.
4. Enhanced version, you can also use BitLocker encryption. Right-click the disk and select enable BitLocker ".
You can select the first method: "unlock the drive with a password"
Password Recovery key method, select how to store the recovery key, if you choose to save the recovery key to a file, then it is best to put the file on the U disk.
The content of this file is similar to the following:
