The management template is saved as a. adm file in the INF folder of the Windows 2003/XP/system folder. These. adm files are essentially some text files. Four template files are installed in the Group Policy by default. Their names and functions are as follows:
1) System. adm: Used to set System policies;
2) Inetres. adm: used for InternetExplorer policy setting;
3) Wmplayer. adm: used to set the WindowsMediaPlayer policy;
4) Conf. adm: Used to set NetMeeting policies.
In Windows 2003/XP/, you can add a management template in the Group Policy Editor window. The procedure is as follows:
Step 2: Open the Group Policy Editor window and expand the "Computer Configuration" or "user configuration" directory in the left pane. Right-click the "manage template" option and select the "Add/delete template" command.
Step 2: In the "Add/delete template" dialog box that appears, click the "add" button and select the template file to be added in the "template" dialog box, click "open. Return to the "Add/delete template" dialog box to view the added template file, as shown in Figure 2008112624.

Step 2: return to the "Group Policy Editor" window, expand the "Computer Configuration"> "management template" directory and expand the corresponding sub-directories to see the configuration items generated by the management template you just added.
