How to Set up file sharing for ubuntu in windows and VBox
1. First install the Virtual Computer Toolkit
Start VirtualBox, run Ubuntu, log on to it, and select "device"> "Install enhancement" from the VirtualBox menu. You will find an extra CD icon on the Ubuntu Desktop, this disc is automatically loaded to the/media/cdom0 folder by default, and/cdrom automatically points to this folder. By default, the file manager automatically opens this disc. You can see a "VBoxLinuxAdditions. run" file in it.
Open a command line terminal, and input "cd/cdrom" and "sudo sh./VBoxLinuxAdditions. run" in sequence, without double quotation marks. Start to install the toolkit. After the installation is complete, you will be prompted in English to restart Ubuntu. We recommend that you restart it immediately.
After the restart, the obvious change is that the mouse is in the sharing mode, and the clipboard is also shared with Windows. If these changes occur, the virtual computer toolkit has been installed successfully.
2. Next, set the shared folder.
This section only describes how to set the graphical interface. It is not recommended or necessary to describe the command line method.
If Ubuntu is running, right-click the shared folder icon in the lower-right corner of the VirtualBox window (on the left of the Mouse icon) to open the shared folder setting window. If Ubuntu is not running, select the ubuntu virtual machine from the list on the left of the VirtualBox interface, and click "shared folder" in the list on the right. The same shared folder setting window can also be opened.
In the shared folder settings window, click "add a shared folder" on the right, select the Windows folder you want to share in the path, and set the share name to your favorite folder, such as "myshare ", the read-only option indicates whether to allow ubuntu to read this folder only. Select this option as needed. Click OK and close the window.
3. Mount the shared folder in ubuntu.
Enter "sudo mount-t vboxsf myshare/media/share" in the command line window under Ubuntu, without double quotation marks. Here, "myshare" is the name of the previously obtained shared folder, "/media/share" is the target folder to be mounted, which I have already created, preferably an empty folder.
In this case, the shared folder under Windows corresponds to the "/media/share" created under Ubuntu. You can try to operate on the shared folder under Ubuntu.
By default, Chinese characters are supported. If garbled characters exist, search for articles related to disk mounting. After restarting Ubuntu, you need to re-mount the shared folder, that is, re-run "sudo mount-t vboxsf myshare/media/share". To automatically mount the file, find the article on modifying the/etc/fstab file, this article does not describe it. Another solution is to never restart Ubuntu, but to use the fast sleep feature provided by VirtualBox, that is, when you disable VirtualBox, select "fast sleep ". In most cases, you can sleep quickly and conveniently.
