What we want to achieve now is to install linux on a hard disk. Here we take CentOS 6.2 as an example to briefly introduce the installation process. It will not be very detailed, just give a thought. Essential tool CentOS 6.2 ISO file: http://up.2cto.com/2012/0331/20120331093811463.zip
Ext2Fsd: used for reading and writing ext2 or ext3 partitions in windows: http://115.com/file/be6ajmwc#Ext2Fsd-0.51.7z In the installation procedure, the ext3 Partition uses Paragon-Partition-Manager to separate an ext3 Partition. The www.2cto.com Partition is used to store iso files. The size depends on the iso file. After partitioning, the hard disk must also have unpartitioned space, because it must be left for CentOS installation. Assign a drive letter when partitioning. Use Ext2Fsd to access the ext3 partition. Install and enable ext2fsd. Right-click the ext3 partition, select "configuration file system", click "enable", and then "Change and exit ". Then I can open my computer and see that I have an extra disk partition, such as F. Copy the iso file to the root directory of the F partition and use the grub4dos software to create a boot menu to open the C drive of my computer. Choose tools> folder> View, remove the check box before "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)" and select "show all files and folders ", remove the check box before "hide the extension of the file type", and click "Apply. Right-click boot. ini in the C-drive root directory and select "properties" to remove the check box before "read-only. Next, open the boot. ini file with notepad, add the following content in the last line: C: GRLDR = "Grub" unzip the grub4dos-0.4.4, copy the GRLDR in the folder to the C root directory. Then create a new boot folder in the C root directory, create the grub folder in the boot folder, copy menu. lst in the grub4dos-0.4.4 folder to C: bootgrub. Decompress, mount, or decompress the iso file, and copy the isolinux folder to the root directory of drive F. Boot CentOS to start www.2cto.com and restart the computer. On the boot page, select Grub and press "C" to enter the command line mode. Enter "root (hd0," (double quotation marks are not required). Press the "Tab" key to display all partitions of the hard disk, if "5" corresponds to the previous ext3 partition, enter "5)". The complete command is root (hd0, 5 ). Press the Enter key, continue entering kernel/isolinux/vmlinuz, press enter, and enter initd/isolinux/initrd. img, press enter, continue to enter boot, press enter, then grub can guide centos to enter the installation interface. The installation of the CentOS system is not mentioned here. Note the following points: 1. When you want to select the partition where the CentOS image file is located, select the last partition. 2. Be careful in this step. Otherwise, the windows system will be lost. When the message "which type of installation do you want" is displayed, select "create custom layout" to create a custom partition, and then create a new ext4 partition in the unpartitioned space, you can also use LVM to manage partitions, but boot must be the primary physical partition. 3.
