Install ubuntu on an xp Hard Disk

Step 1:

(1) preparations:

* First, use a file disk as the installation disk.

* Download the ubuntu image file and Dos4grub.

(2) modify the file:

* Copy the grldr and menu. list Files under Dos4grub to the c root directory, and add "installation information" at the end of menu. list.

* Put the initrd. lz and vmlinuz files in the casper directory of the ubuntu image in the directory c.

* Modify the system boot. ini file and add C:/grldr = "install ubuntu 11.10"

(3) installation:

* Restart and select install ubuntu.

* Sudo umount-l/isodevice.

* Partition.

(4) modify the startup sequence:

* Modify the/boot/grub. cfg file in ubuntu (put the xp item first ).
