A few days ago, we reported that Microsoft's next-generation operating system would have higher hardware requirements, because its basic interfaces use 2D and 3D operations, so at least the graphics card must support shader 2.0. If the video card is too weak, I am afraid some basic operations are very difficult.
Not only that, but Longhorn also has low requirements on other system configurations. According to tests on foreign websites, Longhorn runs abnormally slowly in the public configuration of Athlon XP 1800 + and MB memory. It is said that it takes more than 15 seconds to open the most basic canvas and card games. The restart time is twice the time it takes to execute the same command on Windows XP, and IE runs very slowly.
However, it is interesting that although Longhorn runs very slowly, its installation time is greatly shortened. On the same machine, it takes 60 minutes to install Windows XP and 20 minutes to install Longhorn. The installed Longhorn occupies about 3 GB of hard disk, and its installation file is only 600 MB on a single disc. Obviously, Microsoft uses a more efficient compression technology here.
So far, we have been unable to determine the release date or even the final name of Longhorn. However, when Longhorn was released, it is estimated that the current P4 computers are outdated, so you don't have to worry about it.
