This tutorial mainly uses Photoshop to transform a magazine model into a retro illustrator, and first we look for a suitable portrait on the Web, and this is a collection of fashion magazines from the Polish female photographer Aneta Kowalczyk. Let's take a tour of the next lesson.
Look at the effect chart first.
The original artwork is as follows:
Step1
Open the picture in PS, habitually copy a layer first. And then what we're going to do is pull out the characters because the background is messy and complex, with the magic wand and the Quick selection tool
It is difficult to achieve satisfactory results, so we have to be patient with the pen tool to trace the path.
Step2
When the path is all painted, the crtl+ returns convert the path to a selection, and the shortcut key Shift+f6 is feathered with a feather radius of 10 pixels.
Step3
This is when ctrl+j copies the selection as shown in the picture:
Step4
Next we need a gradient background, crtl+alt+shift+n create a new layer, and remember that the layer order is reversed. We choose the sky blue, we in the actual operation can also choose your favorite color Oh, try always no harm drop.
It's OK to brush the gradient on the background layer.
Step5
By the time we zoom in and see the edges of the model not being cleaned up, we're going to have to trim this layer further.
Step6
Create a mask for edge modification
After trimming, the following figure shows:
Step7
In order to make the picture vivid add retro breath, we have to find the material fill the picture, put the flower layer below the portrait layer.
Step8
If you think the picture is not enough, we can add some graphics and retro material, play your imagination to stack it, with the triangle to the model wearing a hat, haha, very interesting!
Step9
For the model to be slightly adjusted to make the whole tone harmonious unity, we first adjust the shadow and highlight. See above. Next is an optional color adjustment.
After the adjustment, the effect is as follows:
Finally, we add the appropriate font, the work is out of the oven ~
Do you want to try it? Play with your ideas and small knitting together to operate it.
