Problem with excessive RSS information (RIO)

We should create a new directory (similar to "to study" or "Accept auditing") and move all such seeds into the directory. Every weekend, we remove the seeds from the new catalog that are no longer of interest, thus achieving effective management of the seeds.

Lead: Do you subscribe to a large number of RSS seeds? Is there hundreds of unread entries in your news reader? Are you using the RSS reader longer than you think? If the answer to all of these questions is yes, you are experiencing an overdose of RSS information (RIO) problems. The famous blogger Emite Agavar (Amit Agarwal) gives a way to solve the problem.

  (1) Create an additional level.

We are always in love and hate for some RSS seeds, sometimes like them, sometimes the opposite. We should create a new directory (similar to "to study" or "Accept auditing") and move all such seeds into the directory. Every weekend, we remove the seeds from the new catalog that are no longer of interest, thus achieving effective management of the seeds.

  (2) Create a Class A directory that contains your favorite seeds.

The A-level catalog contains seeds that are not just from a-level blog, but, in fact, contain mainly the seeds you can't miss. For example, your girlfriend's blog, or your colleague's blog, and so on. When you don't have enough time, the A-level catalog will show up. You can only read the seeds in this catalogue and mark all the other seeds as "read". When you travel outside, and the hotel's Internet connection is slow, a-level catalog will also play a role.

  (3) Search and delete using keywords.

The most popular event in the blogosphere last week was the CES exhibition, the Macworld conference, and the iphone launch. Almost all blogs are attracted to the iphone, and you can see the same iphone images and technical parameters on many blogs. This can happen when the White pearl version of BlackBerry, the famous corporate blogger Kobe Bryant resigned from Microsoft, and Google changed AdSense policy.

You can use the following methods to remove a lot of repetitive blog posts from a newsreader: Create a search keyword (such as CES, Macworld, or iphone) and search for all unread items. Then you mark all the search results and read them in one breath. In this way, you may miss one or two valuable comments, but you can achieve the goal of "losing weight" for the RSS reader.

  (4) Add a digital ID to your favorite seeds.

If your favorite seeds contain ze Frank, Wired, and Jeremy Zawodny, there's a problem: Most news readers are sorted by seed names, and because of the initials, the blogs tend to appear in the bottom or middle of the list. To keep them in front, you can add digital IDs to the seeds, such as 1 Wired, 2 Ze Frank, and 3 Jeremy Zawodny, so they stay at the top of the list.

  (5) The final method

When you come back from vacation, news readers tend to be filled with a lot of interesting content. You can use this method to solve the problem of information Overload: Return to the root directory and select "Target all as read". Then open the Techmeme and browse the important news you may miss during your vacation.
