I believe there are a lot of friends like me. Using the Windows 2000 operating system, as with other versions of Windows, if there are too many things in the Windows 2000 system, it will take a lot of time to start each time, it really kills me. Then we will eliminate some unnecessary starting programs, but also let the system reduce the time of the self-test, so that the system can shorten the startup time.
1, with good msconfig command. The System Configuration Utility (Msconfig), under Windows 98, is a handy tool to easily remove or temporarily stop some of your startup programs, but Windows 2000 discards it, and you can only modify the registry to achieve the goal. In fact, we can completely copy the original Windows 98 installation directory Msconfig.exe (in the System subdirectory) to the Windows 2000 \winnt\system directory and run it directly to keep it functioning.
The program first pops up an error message box, prompting you to not find the following system files: Config.sys, Autoexec.bat, System.ini, and Win.ini, "Ignore" it, click "OK" and you will see the familiar Msconfig program window, Here you can easily remove some of your own programs (Figure 1) in accordance with your needs! However, if you can't find a friend with Windows 98 around, you can also download it on the web, which recommends a Msconfig program that is stripped of Windows XP and is fully available in Windows 2000.

3, remove some record information. Right-click on "My Computer", select Properties to select the Startup and Repair tab under Advanced, and if you have only Windows 20,001 operating systems installed, you can remove the "Show operating system list" check box; If your computer itself is not used as a server, you can completely remove the " Write the events to the System log and issue administrative alerts, and set write debug information to none (Figure 2).

With such a few steps to optimize, I believe that your Windows 2000 system will start to improve a lot of speed.
