Windows NT 1993 was released in 3.1. This product was developed based on OS/2 NT and jointly developed by Microsoft and IBM. Later, the collaboration was separated. Microsoft changed the software name to their version MS Windows NT and changed the main API to a 32-bit version. Microsoft employs a group of people from Digital Equipment Corporation to develop the new system. Many elements of this system reflect earlier DEC concepts with VMS and RSX-11. Because it is the first product that truly corresponds to the server market, it is more stable than the desktop operating system.
