Windows XP to build a home network

In recent years, with the falling price of computer and its accessories and the increasing popularity of the network, the Family network has become a very practical fashion topic. Through the family network, not only can save money, so many hardware devices to achieve multiple computer sharing, make full use of existing resources, so that each computer no longer work alone, and become a whole existence.

13.4.1 Select the type of home network

When setting up a home network, users need to consider choosing the right operating system and the actual networking structure. When choosing an operating system, consider the ease of access between the existing operating system and the selected operating system, the stability of the selected operating system, the ease of network connectivity, and ease of management. As far as the most common Windows operating systems are concerned, users can choose a higher version of the operating system as far as the machine hardware configuration allows. Because the high version of the operating system is generally more stable than the lower version of the operating system, network features more powerful, management and maintenance is also more convenient.

When selecting a network structure, the user needs to consider whether the selected network structure can be used to maximize the effectiveness of the computer in the network, and whether it is easy to connect, and to facilitate maintenance and so on. Peer-to-peer Network is a good choice for family networking, the use of Peer-to-peer network does not need to set up a dedicated server to share applications with other computers, optical drives, printers, scanners and other resources, and Peer-to-peer Network has a simple, easy to build and maintain advantages, is a better choice of family network.

13.4.2 to build a home network

Windows XP has a strong network function, most of the network settings can be implemented through the corresponding Network Connection Wizard, the user only need to do simple setup operations can be easily completed. Building a home network in Windows XP is easy to do with the Network Setup Wizard, and you can refer to the following steps:

(1) Click the "Start" button, select "All Programs" ∣ "∣", "Communications" ∣ "Network Setup Wizard" command, open the Network Setup Wizard dialog box, as shown in Figure 13.32.

(2) The wizard dialog box shows what you can do with the wizard dialog box, click the Next button, and open the Network Setup Wizard Two dialog box, as shown in Figure 13.33.

(3) The wizard dialog box shows the network connection, the user should be ready to work, click the Next button, open the Network Setup Wizard of the three dialog box, as shown in Figure 13.34.

(4) There are three options in the wizard dialog box, and the user can choose the right option according to the actual situation. This example selects the "Other" option, clicks the Next button, and goes to the Network Setup Wizard Four dialog box, as shown in Figure 13.35.
