According to relevant news, Tencent Micro-trust team will post a message tonight, said 2.5G network optimization plan started , currently and operators Operation Department is to discuss the signaling solution, mitigation of micro-letter occupation Communication network letter,  resulting in too much resource problems. the following for the micro-letter team to explain the full range of mobile network issues:

Recently, There has been a lot of discussion, such as signaling issues, in about micro-letters. Today, we especially invite the micro-credit technology team to answer.

Question one: May I ask the question of the signaling first?

A: In every network interaction, the removal of the control signal outside the content data signal is a signaling. The 2g/2.5g system is mainly designed for WAP information extraction, and the processing capacity of signaling is limited. Since Apple launched the iphone in 2007, smartphones have become generally "kept online" and operators have upgraded their networks to 3G and 4G, boosting support for signaling. So essentially, the signaling problem is that the previous generation of 2G networks cannot support the smartphone-era app's long-term networking feature.

Question two: Is the issue of signaling a problem of China's own or global commonality?

A: The issue of signaling is global.

The fastest growing, for instance, is the Whatsapp of America, the KakaoTalk of Korea, the line of Japan, and China's micro-letters. Other more well-known products include Kik, Tango, FB Messenger, China Mobile (micro-blog) flying letter, the Chinese Unicom (Micro-blog) of the Washin as well as the wing chat (Weibo). Their common feature is to rely on the heartbeat signal, to maintain the state of the line, so must have a "heartbeat signal", so this also on the mobile data network signaling processing capacity of higher requirements.

Question three: Since the issue of signalling is a global problem, is there a solution in the global context? What is special about the situation in China and is there any solution?

A: From the practice of mobile network construction in various countries, many countries and regions have already solved this problem better. Tokyo in Japan, Seoul in South Korea, and Hong Kong in China, for example, are densely populated cities with high smartphone share, and they have achieved a real "wireless city" by supporting high-density smartphones and online apps, through a massive expansion of the 3G/4G network and the city's dense wifi support.

South Korea's Seoul, which accounts for 1/4 of South Korea's 70% of smartphones (one times higher than China's), is the highest proportion of global smartphones. Kakao Talk, which installed more than 90% of smartphones, is known as "Korean National communications software." In such high-density cities, South Korean operators through the construction of the 3G/4G network, as well as the city's dense WiFi hotspot support, mobile Internet is very fluent, users can be very happy to use including Kakao Talk in the class of online applications.

In Hong Kong, China, with its small size and skyscrapers, the population density is one of the most difficult cities to deploy mobile network base stations. Hong Kong has a total of 6 mobile operators, has long been fully 3G, 2012 began to popularize 4G network. Similar to the Seoul in South Korea, there are free WiFi available everywhere except for home WiFi, street cafes, commercial buildings, shopping malls and neighborhoods. Through these infrastructure, Hong Kong users can enjoy high-speed mobile Internet, Hong Kong users generally use micro-letter, Whatsapp, facetime, fast speed, very smooth use.

The main problem in China is focused on the previous generation of 2.5G networks. Compared with Japan and South Korea, the biggest difference is that the proportion of domestic 2.5G users, especially China Mobile, the user from 2.5G to td-3g the proportion of the relatively low. 2.5G network is weaker than the signaling processing capability, and it will be difficult to load with high signaling. For China Telecom and Unicom, because of the high proportion of 3G users, processing signaling ability is much easier. In addition, in the wireless broadband city construction, the domestic still relatively backward, public WiFi is not too popular, the ability to share mobile base station is not enough.

In order to take into account the previous generation of 2.5G network, the micro-trust team in the product design has done a lot of very carefully optimized design. For example, the popular friend Circle feature, which uses deep compression for social photo streaming, drastically reduces the size of the picture, allowing 2.5G users to experience the joys of photo socializing. Micro-letter language message, the use of similar software than the depth of compression technology, but also for 2.5G users can be easier to use.

In order to solve the signaling pressure problem of the previous generation 2.5G network, the micro-credit technology team is working with the operator to explore the solution. Looking forward in the near future, through our active exploration and efforts to achieve intelligent 2.5G dynamic reduction of signaling frequency technology. Signaling load is expected to be greatly optimized for resolution.

With the construction speed of 3g/4g, WiFi wireless city construction, the problem of signaling and speed of the industry will eventually be solved. We believe that the issue of 2G network signaling is a phased problem of 3g/4g/wifi transition, which can be solved by joint technology optimization between operators and app providers.
