According to Isuppli forecasts, 2002 ~2008 years of global automotive electronics equipment and Automotive semiconductor sales annual growth rate will reach 8.3%, the automotive electronics market will become the global electronic Equipment application market, the fastest growing area.
In 2008, auto Electronics sales will reach $113.4 billion trillion, up 61% from 2002 (70.3 billion US dollars), while car semiconductor sales will grow from 10.7 billion dollars in 2002 to 24.5 billion dollars in 2008, with an annual growth rate of 14.9%. Figure 1 is the world's automotive electronics equipment and Automotive semiconductor sales forecasts.

Automotive power Management IC and discrete device sales also show a good momentum of development. For example, power management IC sales will grow from $1.9 billion trillion in 2002 to $5.3 billion in 2008. Figure 2 shows the Automotive power management IC sales forecasts. Among them, the power regulator and power transistor sales will be from 2002 of 171 million U.S. dollars and 691 million U.S. dollars to 2008 of 994 million U.S. dollars and 1.9 billion U.S. dollars, annual growth rate of up to 34.1% and 18.4%; 2008 will reach 2.4 billion dollars.
The increase in car power consumption and the postponement of the 42-volt bus application will force carmakers to use digital control power (DCP), which will provide greater flexibility and programmability to power supply, improve performance and reliability, and reduce hardware complexity. Isuppli expects sales of DCP to increase significantly in the ~2012 year of 2008.
