Bebo, 8 years old, has recently been on the verge of death. In 2008, AOL spent 850 million dollars on its income.

Potts, who published a Monday tweet, said he had bought the asset from Criterion Capital ("CCP") at a price of $1 million and planned to restart the social networking site. 3 years ago, AOL's transfer of Bebo to CCP was rumored to be less than 10 million dollars.

Bebo has never been close to getting 1 billion user levels like Facebook, but it has played an important role in the advent of the social networking era. Bebo became Britain's sixth-most popular website in 2006, when it seemed a cooler platform than a MySpace bought by News Corp. By the time Bebo sold AOL, it had accumulated 40 million users, the size of which was second only to MySpace and Facebook in the US.

After leaving its heyday, Bebo at least two degrees on the brink of collapse. Only two years after the acquisition of Bebo, AOL plans to shut it down if it cannot find a buyer. Last year, the Bebo in the CCP also looked bleak, even Potts the failure to extend its downtime to the Death bulletin.
