Experience this Las Vegas Interop Congress, the reporter really found: even if only the superficial glimpse, but also enough to let people appreciate the style and glory of the network Holy Land. As a network of practitioners from afar, it should be worthwhile. And let's capture the most compelling hot topic of interop 2012, outlined in one or two.

The fabric battle for the cloud

Cloud computing is roaring in and there is no change. The data center network instantly felt its powerful influence. Cloud computing, on the one hand, requires data centers to be larger, denser and more reliable than traditional data centers, and the widespread use of virtualization also makes traditional networks less important. As a result, the new sophomore-tier technology came into being, and fabric became the hottest word in the data center network for two years. Network vendors are Shinma for fabric technology, trying to compete in the Future Data Center network field. This session of the interop assembly highlights the final manufacturers in this area of competitiveness.

As a strong entry in the network market, Huawei fully demonstrated the spirit of calf, the booth stands in the opposite of Cisco. Its cloudengine 12800 core switch product line is also shocking: The product line is based on non-blocking clos fabric architecture, with a maximum switching capacity of 48Tbps, and a bandwidth capacity of 2Tbps per slot. Cloudengine 12812 supports 96 100G Ethernet ports, 288 40G Ethernet ports, and 1152 10G Ethernet ports. The Cloudengine 12800 and cloudengine 5800/6800 top switches support Gigabit, Wan Shao 40/100g Ethernet connectivity with network virtualization and support for FCoE features. At the same time, as one of the core contractors of the network interopnet, Huawei helped to build a network of parks that provide a safe and reliable network environment and services for exhibitors and viewers.

Dell Network vice president and general manager Dario Zamarian shared Dell's network and IT vision with the public in a keynote address on May 8. The Dell Booth showcases the first MXL 10/40g Ethernet Blade Server switch, its data center network device that complies with the Software Definition Network (SDN) OpenFlow Standard, and its most recently expanded management software.

Dell Network Business CTO Dr. Lin Geo told reporters that the MXL switch inside the blade chassis kept the exchange of information between blades within the same chassis, avoiding excessive communication between overhead switches, resulting in increased efficiency and reduced latency. The Synchronous network virtualization solution, because of the use of Nvgre technology, when the virtual machine migration within the network can automatically configure the virtual LAN, and no longer require administrator intervention.

Alcatel-Lucent announced the addition of 40G Ethernet and high-density 10G Ethernet capabilities to its core switches, and enhanced the rack top and core switch software to refine its datacenter architecture. Clifford Grossner, the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Network Strategic Marketing department, told reporters that for its omniswitch 10000 core switches, Alcatel-Lucent would launch 8-port 40G Ethernet and 16-port 10G Ethernet modules, and the line cards would allow Omniswitch The 10000 chassis supports up to 64 wire-speed 40G Ethernet ports and up to 256 wire-speed 10G Ethernet ports. New solutions support the SPB, Vepa, DCB, FCoE protocols, with industry-leading flexibility, scalability, cloud readiness, and green energy saving.

Extreme released a 10G Ethernet copper module for a new copper version of its Black Diamond X8 core switch and Summit X670 overhead switch. Extreme PR Manager Gregory Cross briefed reporters on extreme's latest million-gigabit copper switches and 40G switches, and said 100G products are also in the process of research and development.

In particular, it is worth mentioning that 2007 years before the creation of the network rookie from the British Gnodal Company, with its high-density, ultra-low latency of the latest gs-series switch to win the Interop 2012 Best Network Award, let the eyes of one of the bright. A self-contained two-layer GS0072 40G converged switch with a 5.8T non-blocking throughput capacity of only 282 nanoseconds. What a talent!
