Consider consolidation when choosing cloud computing

People who are using the public cloud are clear that the integration link should be added to the existing enterprise system. For example, customer data on cloud services should be synchronized with customer data in the enterprise system. It's a common sense, isn't it?

Whether direct links applied to applications are through APIs or some sort of integration engine, most companies using cloud computing know they need access to information and services on the cloud through the interface. But you may not know some cloud service providers limit the number of interfaces they can provide in a single instance.

This limitation is understandable. If the provider creates hundreds of interfaces in a cloud-based application or server instance, the customer's use will eventually result in a saturation of network services and other resources. Therefore, cloud service providers usually only allow simultaneous 10~20 interface connections.

This is a real problem for large, enterprise-focused systems that support both the core interface and the consolidated link to the enterprise. To be able to support business processes between local applications and cloud-based systems, the number of consolidation points will be huge. However, due to performance problems, the required quantity is usually not available.

I think, over time, most cloud service providers will increase the number of interfaces they allow, but some of the companies that are currently deploying cloud computing will soon find themselves reaching the limit. While the rationale for imposing restrictions is reasonable, you need to understand them before you fully rely on them so that you can take these constraints into account in your use. Before you buy a service, you should include these restrictions in your list of questions.
