Author information: This article is by Openlogic founder, UB director Http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/19330.html ">eric Weidner, this article describes how the company provides support and services to CentOS customers, detailing how to obtain openlogic CentOS mirrors that run on the Windows Azure Virtual Rogue.
Openlogic provides services and support for more than 700 different open source code packs, including business-level support for CentOS, and enterprise-class Linux distributions derived from red Hat Enterprise Linux for public sources. Our goal in support of CentOS is to ensure that enterprises is able to take advantage of such a fully open approach in place of the Enterprise Linux distributions known and widely used by customers.
From around last April, we worked closely with the Windows Azure team in order to make the open Logic CentOS mirrors available in the Image Library of Windows Azure Preview Management portal. Our peers, like Henry Jerez, have focused on providing better solutions to our common customers and working with us to meet a range of issues to ensure "online" on time.
The advantage of CentOS and Windows Azure is that they really rarely get the openlogic images that are running. For users, it's as easy to get the Open Logic CentOS image on the Windows Azure Portal as to answer a few basic installation questions and then wait five minutes to start the CentOS server. There are also tools for developers to interoperate with platform automation.
The openlogic CentOS images that customers run on Windows Azure can be expected to have a broader, more selective, and truly predictable deployment process. In addition, they obtained a distributor to run the traditional data center that they are already familiar with.
To illustrate how easy it is, here are step-by-step details on how to use Windows Azure management to create a custom virtual machine to run the portal Openlogic CentOS mirroring:
1. Log in to Windows Azure Management Portal. On the command bar, click New.
2. The VM OS selection dialog box will open. Now you can select images from image gallery.
3. Click Platform Images, select Openlogic CentOS 6.2 image, and then click the arrow to continue.
