July 5 News, in Indonesia, the war on electronic commerce has become increasingly fierce, the constant influx of large players, aspiring to seek the best position. Recently, there is news that ebay has entered the Indonesian market.
Billion power network learned that, according to Indonesian news portal PLASAMSN (Indonesia Telecom and Microsoft's joint venture) CEO Widi Nugroho revealed that ebay is now ready to release the Indonesian online market. He also talked about the current development of Plasa.com, a joint venture between Indonesia Telecom and ebay, pointing out that it would be the place for ebay to exert its force on the Indonesian market.
At present, the main E-commerce players in the Indonesian market, including Kaskus, Tokopedia and Lotte, ebay intrusion or will pose a great threat to them.
According to the Billion power network, ebay's Plasa company is about to release the Indonesian online market in the next one months or two months. Since it is a joint venture with ebay, a local Indonesian company, its goal is not only to become Indonesia's Consumer-to-consumer, but also to become the number one.
It is reported that from last year, ebay began to establish cooperative relations with the Indonesian Telecom. An ebay team of 20 people has quickly developed the Consumer-to-consumer platform and has done a lot of research in the Indonesian market. The data showed that last year Plasa's revenue from business-to-business businesses was larger than that of the business, while the upcoming Consumer-to-consumer market business would have lit up the entire site.
Widi says consumers and businesses can use the platform to sell products online, but ebay's Plasa Bazaar does not offer an auction function. This, he explains, is based on the ebay team's market research, because the auction function is not actually suitable for Indonesian users.
At the same time, however, another interesting news is that Indonesia's biggest social forum, Kaskus, will launch an online bazaar similar to ebay auctions this year.
Kaskus, one of ebay's rivals in the Indonesian market, said it had not yet ruled 2011 years of investment and would use the money if it had a big deal in Indonesia. Now ebay has aggressively attacked, and Kaskus this year or will launch the money to defend itself.
Another ebay competitor, Tokopedia, has a steady investment every year, positioning itself more like China's Taobao, saying it is not afraid of ebay.
In addition, Indonesia and Japan's joint venture Rakuten Belanja Online will also be a strong competitor for ebay. Japan's Lotte Group (Rakuten) has refocused Indonesia's market and opened up Rakuten's Cross-border platform to Indonesian businesses to sell their products overseas.
