EMC CIO: Three points of concern for deploying cloud computing

In this process, it is possible to architect a private cloud or to use the cloud provided by the service provider for a hybrid cloud architecture.

In this process, we think that the architecture should allow the customer to do this, rather than an either or an alternative. In EMC's it process, virtualization is facilitated and private clouds are built, taking into account our workload while also using a hybrid cloud from a friendly service provider.

In other words, we are not limited to private clouds or public clouds, and we should be able to derive both efficiencies and benefits from both kinds of clouds.

And many of our apps are on the public cloud, in other words, we're using a hybrid cloud format where the most important thing is customer control, efficiency, and choice, including EMC virtualization and cloud choices, and we use VMware's products, our infrastructure, EMC's entire cloud architecture is built around it, and it works well.

CIOs are customers of IT products

Sanjay Mirchandani is the EMC global CIO, and when he took office two friends emailed him that the CIO was "dour is over", but he thought the CIO position was a perfect position. Such a position is a good opportunity, I was able to apply some of the things I learned in my previous service, and when I met my clients, I also enjoyed being able to introduce our services to them from the perspective of application technology to drive the value of the enterprise, not just technology.

He also said that CIOs are customers of IT products, and it allows us to be self-critical and constantly improve. He cited an example: I was in the IT building in Boston, will feel that everything is perfect, but if I take a laptop to travel around the world, for example, to Beijing, I plug the computer into the socket, on-line, the first thing to do is to check the quality of its connection, to see if our system is easy to use, I became a customer of this product. But that's also a good thing, enabling CIOs to maintain a better relationship with other departments.
