Emulex Latest products and strategic developments

In this May's "single Chip 16Gb Fc+10gbe: Accelerate the integration of network transition", the author discussed the Brocade Brocade 1860 Fabric adapter--compatible 16gb/s FC and 10GbE two kinds of port HBA cards, as well as Emulex XE201 Multi-Fibre architecture I/O controller. Over time, the footsteps of the 16gb/s Fibre Channel SAN storage network slowly approached us.

Now we see that QLogic and Emulex also publish 16gb/s FC HBA cards for their own brands (as opposed to OEM business). On QLogic's website (see above), the 2600 series adapter's official shipping time is set for early next year, while Emulex claims that its Lightpulse LPe16000 series 16G FC adapter will be listed in the 4th quarter of this year.
