Ericsson to work with telecom operators to develop cloud business

Ericsson plans to work with telecom operators to develop cloud computing operations as part of the plan, which announced its accession to OpenStack in Tuesday.

    Ericsson Cloud Project, said that future services and applications would include many aspects. On one hand is the fault management, the current OpenStack in this field is still a blank. Ericsson also plans to support VMware, including virtual machine migration between different hosts.

    Also, Ericsson will further improve the OpenStack network capabilities.

    demo body is comprised of three data centers, distributed across different continents. Ericsson's tools can create and connect virtual data centers in the physical locations of each data, and use these virtual centers to build private clouds.

    The tool can also automate deployment of cloud services and related applications, and Ericsson is now consolidating automated service level agreements. The management tool took advantage of the technology that Ericsson acquired from Telcordia, while fusing the network cloud concept that Ericsson has recently promoted.

    Telecom operators are two different from simple cloud services. First, they have a more stable relationship with corporate clients, and second, they have more control over the Web.

    in the network cloud concept of Ericsson, a number of telecom operators can jointly support a cloud service while consolidating all the required network resources. This is not what Amazon and other large public cloud providers can do.

    The next step in the Ericsson Network Cloud Plan is to migrate the data center to the network. At present, most of the network services of telecom operators are running on the Intel kernel servers. A large amount of unused space in the server can be used to provide cloud services.
