Loading a user's home page typically requires access to hundreds of servers, processing thousands of pieces of data, and providing a selection in less than a second, the company said.

Facebook reports in its SEC document that it has a "network of devices" worth 1.016 billion of dollars. The figures reflect the rapid establishment of the vast Internet infrastructure, which includes Facebook's purchase of servers and the transfer of leased data centers to its own servers, racks and custom data center construction costs.

Facebook's return on investment

While the shift requires huge capital investment, Facebook says its custom design will significantly reduce costs and be more cost-effective than using traditional servers and renting data centers.

At the same time, the return on investment shows that in 2011, Facebook invested $1 billion trillion in profits of more than 3.7 billion dollars.

Facebook's spending may increase as it continues to build its own data center infrastructure. The company was in Oregon State in April 2011, using a simplified distribution system and a customized rack server with Facebook requirements and full of its first Prineville data center.

Facebook spends $210 million trillion in building 28 megawatts of data center space, costing 7.5 million dollars per megawatt.

Facebook is also one of the biggest tenants in the leasing market, saying it expects to spend 1.9203.html of ">8 billion" in 2012 years to provide space for the data centre. It is estimated that Facebook's data center lease costs at least 50 million dollars a year.

"We will invest in Facebook's data centers in the US and beyond Europe, and our goal is to deliver Facebook products quickly and reliably to all users around the world." ”
