June 26 News, Facebook's app Instagram launched its video feature last week. Media Business Insider wrote that Instagram video was a bad idea. The following is the full text of the article:
Instagram recently launched the Instagram video sharing feature. When Instagram co-founder Kevin Storm (Kevin Systrom) announced the new features, he called it the ultimate human pursuit of "Memory tools." A way to capture memories.
But Jenna Wassem of the New York Times thinks that Storm's story is entirely nonsense.
Wassem recently enjoyed a picnic in the sunset, she took out the phone and tried to capture a wonderful moment with Instagram video features. But Wassem's experience sucks. This is definitely scary memories, nothing to nostalgia. She wrote:
“...... On the crumbling roof, I feel like I'm immersed in surreal. This is definitely not the night I want to remember, and I don't want to share my Instagram video with my friends. ”
Perhaps one would think that Wassem used the wrong filter. But that's not the problem. The point is how most people use Instagram. Instagram users need to experience, if the user does not like, then other statements are redundant.
In addition Instagram doesn't seem to realize that the key point is that video can't be perfect just by filtering. When you have a picnic outdoors, it's hard to make the perfect video. It takes more effort to make the scene in everyday life beautiful, and it's impossible to rely solely on filters.
Another instgram of open sharing is also worrying. Message applications such as Snapchat and WhatsApp provide a half-open way of communication, sending status updates only to some friends, rather than to the entire social circle. It seems that users are increasingly accepting this approach.
In the past three years, Instagram has never been involved in the video field, and Instagram's initial idea was to make the shoddy photos very beautiful and then share them. Instagram has achieved great success, but it seems that video-sharing is hard to replicate. Opportunity is far away, and the road ahead is dangerous.
