So far, Feedly has completed the cloud synchronization service, Google Reader's deadline has been around. Feedly supports the migration of user-owned GR data to their own servers, ensuring that users of GR continue to browse their GR RSS feeds after July 1. Feedly also provides developers with an open framework to create applications on their platform. IFTTT, Sprout Social, NextGen Reader, Press and Newsify all release Feedly-enabled apps.
Feedly also redesigned its web interface for a better user experience, and Feedly now does not require plugins to be installed and can be opened in any browser. The Feedly home page also offers the option of one-click migration of GR data. The company said it currently handles more than 25 million feeds per day, and as Reeder joins it, that number is bound to increase.
Of course Feedly also faces Digg's competition, which recently announced Digg Reader on June 27. Both companies plan to introduce pay-per-functionality in the future.
