IBM Greater China Vice President Shili Phoenix Science and technology News, May 24, the Four China Cloud Computing Conference held today, the General Assembly to "play a demonstration leading role in promoting cloud computing innovative practice" as the theme, Phoenix Technology site for the whole story. Shili, vice president of IBM Greater China, said according to IBM's technical conference last year, there are 2 major trends in the global Future: the first is that the global economy will be redesigned over the next decade; the second is that technological innovation will drive business transitions and create new values. Shili said China also faces 2 major challenges, one of how to grow to higher value and the other to boost domestic demand faster. Shili said that, based on the above consensus and understanding, IBM's understanding of cloud computing is to think about it and reshape the business. It's change is very important, it is also one of the necessary conditions for the success of the enterprise, but more importantly, it brings the business transformation, so that enterprises in a rapidly changing economic environment, can be invincible, can seize the opportunity of enterprise transformation, and get the growth of wisdom. The following is a transcript of the speech: You leaders, experts, ladies and gentlemen, good morning! Today I am very pleased to be able to represent IBM to do the "cloud computing achievements intelligent growth" speech. In fact, cloud computing is not an emerging technology in recent years, as early as 20 years ago, IBM has been using cloud computing technology in our host application environment. Why has cloud technology attracted more and more attention in recent years and become an important driving force in economic development? We think that the most important reason is the change of economy and market environment, put forward the new demand to it. In September last year, IBM convened a technical conference in New York, where we invited world leaders from more than 700 political, business and academic circles to explore the global future. Participating in the Forum on the views, there are two of consensus. The first is that the global economy will be redesigned over the next decade, and the second is that technological innovation will drive business transitions and create new values. The Vice president of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has put forward several important viewpoints on the changes in the global economic structure. He believes that the financial crisis has fundamentally changed the pattern of the world economy, emerging economies have become an important leading force for global growth. In 2010, emerging economies contributed 70% to world economic growth. The second view is that 3 billion of the population will gradually become richer and start spending, which will have a significant impact on the global economic landscape. Looking at China's economic environment, in the past ten years, China has been in the global manufacturing industry, especially the road and bridge construction, new energy and other fields, has achieved a leading position, we face the new challenge is how to higher value development. At the same time, low-end labor-intensive industries will continue to move to cheaper countries such as South America and Southeast Asia. Due to the uncertainty and recession of the mature market economy, the export-oriented economy willSlowing down, the second challenge we face is how to boost domestic demand faster. It is because of these changes in the economic layout that new challenges and new requirements for it. First, the accelerated development of the value chain globalization has put forward a new topic for it. Today a typical manufacturer will use parts from 35 partners around the world to produce and process his products. So how can you achieve this business requirement more efficiently, seamlessly, and cheaply? A new topic is presented to it. The second is the rapid development of intelligent terminals and interconnected applications, which subtly alters the behavior patterns of each of us. In 2012, we expected 700 million smartphone shipments in the plenary, doubling 34%,PC shipments over the same period last year, with 113 million shipments in Chinese handsets, up 56% from a year earlier. There are already 2 billion Internet users worldwide. In Brazil, Japan, Germany, India and other countries, 60% of workers have been using mobile devices and mobile applications, in the United States, the data is as high as 70%. It is because of these behavioral patterns that the changes, as well as the intelligent terminals and their interconnection requirements, will be a huge amount of data on the global cause a rapid growth. From 2007 to 2011, global digital data grew 10 times-fold. All these economic, market and it drastic changes have brought a great deal of pressure to change and competition. Data show that in 2000, the world's largest companies in the rankings, today only 20% of companies survive, and continue to occupy a leading position. In other words, 80% of the world's leading companies have died or been merged in the past decade. How to better grasp the opportunity of economic transformation, so that enterprises remain invincible, and can get a wise growth? In 2011, in the IBM CIO survey, we interviewed 18 different CIOs, and 60% of CIOs listed cloud computing as their important planning and it planning. The goal is to bring more business analytics and business insights to the enterprise, implement mobile solutions for the enterprise, and optimize and virtualize existing IT resources for the enterprise. This shows that cloud computing has been the focus of attention, it is not only because of technology itself, but more importantly it brings about it innovation and business innovation. What is cloud computing? One of the more common claims in the industry now is virtualization, and IBM has a different view. We think cloud computing is a journey for businesses and it goes through several different stages. The first phase, the stage of virtualization, it includes automation, standardization, optimization, and so on; the second phase is the dynamic allocation, monitoring and release of resources; the third phase is an soa-based service catalog that transforms support for it into a service; the fourth phase is the integration of all services and all resources, Create a buy-and-use it architecture and implement a granular billing. The ultimate goal of this journey is to introduce aA new business model that creates a new business value for the enterprise through it, which may be a lower it operating cost, or a new cash flow and new business growth for the enterprise. If you use a chart to summarize IBM's understanding of cloud computing, it is to think about it and reshape the business. It change is very important, it is also one of the necessary conditions for the success of enterprises, but we think more important is that it brings the business transformation, so that enterprises in a rapidly changing economic environment, can be invincible, can seize the opportunity of enterprise transformation, and gain wisdom of growth. Based on IBM's long-standing knowledge and understanding of global corporate customers, we see that there are about six business drivers that bring about the need for cloud computing. For example, how the flexibility of cost is paid on demand, how it can support a business scalability, that is, the rapid development of the business and fast reduction, to meet the dual requirements. Again, is the adaptability of the market, how to more quickly put the product to market. How to manage the diversity of content and the connectivity of ecosystems if it is shielded from complexity. We put these business requirements into four categories, the first is how to reduce the cost and complexity of IT development, how to build a new cloud-based data center; the second is how to help the enterprise transformation, a traditional existing IT organizational structure into a cloud platform, cloud architecture The third category is to obtain timely access to a buy-and-use it capacity, the fourth category is the Business innovation model. For these different four types of requirements, IBM provides a standardized, replicable cloud computing solution. The first two types, we have done a lot in China, we do a lot of Chinese customers to build the cloud and the transformation of the cloud platform, and many other projects, we will give a case to explain, here I would like to focus on IBM's global public cloud service capabilities. In the May of 2010, IBM released our public cloud service capabilities worldwide, so far, only two manufacturers worldwide have the ability to cover the global public cloud, one is mainly located in consumer customers, the other is our IBM positioning in the Enterprise class customers, our public cloud delivery capacity has three characteristics, the first , we have deployed seven public cloud delivery centers around the world, three in the United States, two in Europe, two in Asia, one in Japan and one in Singapore. These seven delivery centers will provide real-time, uninterrupted public cloud services to customers around the world. The seven delivery centers are managed and regulated by a command center in the United States, and our charging model is actually very competitive. The second feature is our IBM public cloud service capabilities, which provide a service commitment. The third feature is the public cloud service platform based on IBM, more than 2000 business applications have been certified to put their applications on our public cloud platform, such as SAP, and this year, we already have a Chinese company that provides animated rendering of SAP and the systemCertification and put their applications on our public cloud platform. Next, I'll talk about three cases very quickly. The first case is a typical case of helping organizations transform from a traditional it architecture into a cloud-based it architecture. This is a large domestic insurance company, they have more than 30 branches across the country, each branch has its own IT infrastructure, have their own applications and their IT management staff. Customers want to achieve unified management of business systems, unify operations and improve their IT resource utilization through an integration of data centers. IBM has developed a data center development strategy for our customers, and we have built a data center based on cloud mode, integrating his national application system logic into the new operating platform for unified management and unified operation and maintenance. Through the implementation of cloud computing tools, we spread the resources of all IT companies across the country and set up a shared resource pool for real-time allocation, monitoring and real-time release. At the same time, we set up a shared test cloud environment for our customers, which greatly increased the deployment speed for our customers ' system deployments. This is a case. The second case is how to leverage IBM's cloud computing technology to help customers with their business innovations. This is one of the world's largest telecommunications service providers. They have a very high brand name in the world, with a lot of loyal users around the world, one of their business development strategy is to build their own public cloud platform, to expand their existing business. After a period of feasibility analysis, they decided to form a strategic partnership with IBM to build their own public cloud brand and service list on IBM's existing public cloud platform. Why choose IBM as their strategic partner? There are three reasons, the first is the rapid listing. In their customers ' observations, they believe that more and more customers are starting to accept and buy an IT service capability based on the public cloud. This public cloud based IT service capability is actually very viscous, and if they can provide a good public cloud service at a reasonable price, there will be little change among these customers. So they think how to capture this emerging area as quickly as possible will be one of their most important competitive advantages, IBM's very sophisticated global public cloud platform best meets his fast-listing needs. The 2nd is the complexity of the program, according to their own feasibility study, they think, if build their own public cloud platform, not only need to invest a lot of money, but also will take a long time, months or even years. During the period, the market is very likely to make great changes, at the same time, the complexity of technology, which middleware, tool selection, and how to maintain a technology and the advanced nature of the function, will greatly improve the risk of project implementation. Ultimately, they believe that collaboration with IBM can shield the complexity of these technologies and enable them to focus on their core business. The 3rd is the ecosystem. They think the ecosystem of more than 2000 ISVs on the IBM platform will provide them with better value added. This is our actual case in the world, through the IBM Public cloud technology, to help our customers achieve their own business innovation and business development. The third case is one of the world's largest chemical manufacturing clients, with factories all over North America and Asia. In the past many years of development, they have a separate automation system in every factory, these automated system data can not be integrated with each other, and any system anomaly, will greatly affect their factory productivity. We have built three cloud platforms for this client, starting with the integration of their 25 existing independent automation systems onto two cloud platforms to achieve data consolidation, resource optimization, and disaster recovery capabilities. The implementation of the system cloud has greatly increased the time spent on this client resource usage and deployment, from the past few days to the present few minutes. The implementation of mobile cloud implements a requirement for mobile applications and enables decision makers to view the operation of the factory anytime, anywhere, through mobile devices or intelligent terminals. Why do we think IBM is the best business partner in cloud computing? First of all, because IBM has a very strong technical force, in the March this year, the U.S. technology blog to the global 21 of technology companies to carry out the technical innovation capability of the statistics, IBM with more than 70,000 patented technology ahead, only last year, IBM has achieved more than 6,800 patented technology, At the same time, IBM is also the first company to make patent technology and intellectual property as a separate income of companies, each year we have more than 1 billion U.S. dollars in revenue. IBM has more than 3,000 patented technologies for cloud computing security and risk control. It is precisely because of IBM's strong technical innovation capabilities, to our corporate transformation escort. The second reason is that IBM can have END-TO-END implementation capabilities, IBM has put forward "think it, reshape business" slogan, IBM is the industry's only one can really put this vision of the manufacturers. Just now I talked about several international practical cases, in fact, in our forum yesterday, some of our domestic clients, such as Bank of Communications, Sinopec, Neo-Austrian, AVIC, incubation platform, etc., are the actual landing cases that transform technological innovation into business innovation. Here, we very much hope to be able to take advantage of IBM's strong technical innovation capabilities and our insight into the industry to help more Chinese enterprises in seizing such an opportunity for economic change, to achieve their own transformation, bigger and stronger, to the world. Thank you!
